November sleevers! How your weight loss?
nursemeg89 replied to READY TO LOSE IT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey November sleeve buddies! I have been LOVING my sleeve so much, my sleeve honestly gave me my life back. I guess it's funny how I didn't even realize how depressed I was until I started feeling happy again! I was sleeved November 19th 2012. My highest weight was 296. Today, march 10th, 2013 I weighed in at 203! I have lost a total of 93 pounds in a little less than 4 months. I never imagined I would be successful at weight loss at all, let alone this successful! The true marker of this journey has been everything I've gained...my confidence, better relationships with my friends and boyfriend, a healthy and active way of life. I never could imagine that ONE decision could change my life so much. I almost cried at my follow up appointment a few weeks ago when I was trying to tell my surgeon (and respected coworker) how much he has changed my life.... He's still continuing to push for me to meet all of my goals...including him currently advocating to have me specialize in operating room nursing and be there beside him during surgeries! Congratulations to everyone for your OUTSTANDING successes, continuing hard work and dedication! ????❤???????????? -

I'm a Happily sleeved registered nurse from NJ. I currently work in med-surg and pediatrics at a small community hospital. I set a lot of career and weight loss goals for myself to accomplish over this year of 2013. I'm hoping to be able to find a job in an ER soon, it's something I've been interested in for a while!! -
Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
nursemeg89 replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi fellow November sleevers! It's awesome to share such a wonderful bond with each one of you. It sounds like everyone is doing great and working really hard, congratulations! As for me, I couldn't be happier. I started my journey at 296 pounds on the date of my pre-op diet, November 4th. Date of surgery was November 19th. Since november 4th, I have lost 71 pounds! I am currently at 225 pounds, the first time I've weighed this in a long time. With a goal weight of 150, I still have a lot of work to go. I've been doing spinning classes at a local gym and have been LOVING THEM. Basically, life is good -
hello im 23 and need some support
nursemeg89 replied to lalabi99's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Laura! I'm Megan, also 23, would be happy to support you via this website. I am post-op. My surgery date was a little over 2 months ago, November 19th! I started my pre-op diet on November 4th (2 weeks of protein shakes) and since that date I have lost 71 pounds. Having this surgery was the single BEST thing I have ever done for myself. What can I do to provide you support? Are you pre-op or post-op? Let me know what I can do! -

I just wanted to share my love for spinning classes and see if anyone else here is also a fan?! I was sleeved on November 19th 2012 and just recently got my fitness and exercise regimen going! I go to spinning classes about 3 times a week at the gym I joined and I LOVE THEM. I come out exhausted, drenched in sweat, and feeling SO ACCOMPLISHED! I love the music and the fun during the classes, we even have special days when a live DJ spins music during classes! I've lost about 70 pounds since I started my pre-op diet November 4th, 2012. Highest weight was 296 and current weight 226. Goal weight- 150, I'm hoping spinning helps me meet that goal!!!!

Hi all! I was hoping that anyone scheduled for surgery this coming Monday, November 19th could check in here so we could form a support system during our last few days pre-op. I can't believe our "new lives" will be starting in just 4 days! I have been so busy with last minute doctor appointments and work this week that I haven't even had time to be nervous- I just feel overwhelmingly excited! Today at 12:30 I have my last surgery related appointment- medical clearance from my PCP. I don't anticipate any issues here! Im a nurse so I've been completely paranoid this week that I am going to get sick, but so far I'm feeling healthy. Just two more 12-hour shifts before my big day My surgery is scheduled this Monday for 8:30 am, i have an anticipated one night hospital stay post-op so I should be leaving in the evening on November 20th. What kind of emotions are you experiencing now with surgery date being so close? Do you have any last min. Questions/concerns? is your hospital bag packed and ready to go?!? Can't wait to hear from everyone

Awesome! Our weight loss is so close, it's amazing!!!

Fellow November 19th sleeves...where is everyone at 2 months post-op? I've lost 65 pounds total!!!

The Ridiculous, Rude Comments Of Others....
nursemeg89 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't even had my VSG yet (scheduled November 19th) and am already losing patience with the terribly insensitive things that people say regarding WLS. Yesterday, my boyfriends mother said, "if you ever come over my house and I notice that you still look the same I will get in your face and announce YOU'RE STALLING!" Is she &*^+^*+ serious!?!?! Also totally annoyed with the "you're going to be so pretty comments..." Please! I know you guys have some comments that have really "rubbed you the wrong way" to share with me
