  1. Babble, Hang in there. I am in the same boat as you are. Ice cream has become my best friend. I am soooo sick of puking up everything. Sliming can happen to me after one well chewed bite, especially in the morning. I don't really get loose enough to eat well until evening and I am generally always hungry, and yes, I do follow all the bandster rules. One thing came to my mind and that was to ask if you are taking your vitamins? Also, perhaps a fill is not warranted at this time? Good luck and God bless. I have come to the conclusion that the band may not be for me. It really has done nothing for my appetite. Sighhhhh. Obviously, you were successful at one time. Do you know why or how that changed?
  2. Rhondako, I am with you there. I am sooo afraid to eat in public. I would try soup, but never any thing else. I really miss eating out...
  3. I definitely find it easier to eat junk. Especially shakes, ice cream, etc. I cannot eat beef at all and am starting to wonder if it is worth it...Hard veggies are out, as are any sorts of bread. Protein shakes make up the largest part of my diet. I can eat tortilla chips (strangely enough), lettuce and tomato salads, beans, and eggs with small amounts of cooked veggies. I feel that my diet is much less healthy since having been banded. I used to eat ALOT of veggies, grains, proteins, etc. I had a huge appetite. I am hungry frequently. I know that I am not at my "sweet spot" as they say, but hope to be soon. I hate being hungry because if I eat too fast, as you know, the dreaded slime sets in and that heart attack feeling. Oh, I found another thing I can eat tonight, baked potatoes. One bite of beef and I am in pain no matter how long I chew. I pureed ground beef with mushroom soup and green beans and I couldn't eat it! I love beef. Is there any chance that this may change over time? I don't know. I hope so. I also feel that I am a slow loser, which wasn't as true before I had the band. I just couldn't ever keep it off. I had a 75 pound scale range. Too much and too often...
  4. Hello, Relatively new to this forum. I was banded in Mexico on 5/4/07 and had a relatively flawless experience. I had a hard time finding a fill doc in Ohio, but have found one and did have my first 1.25cc. fill. I suppose I just need to be patient but I am not losing as I thought I would. I started out at 225 and am now 210. I am finding soooo many foods that I just can't eat. Hamburger, raw carrots, bread, (of any sort), most crunchy veggies (which I absolutely adore) and am now wondering if I made a mistake (at times). I miss eating horribly. Does anyone have any experience that is similar to mine. I HATE that sliming, spit up thing. It concerns me because I am afraid I will do something to the band. I have to eat slowly I know, but will I ever be able to tolerate most foods? Any comments, insights, or suggestions are more than welcome.

Denise, I am in the northeastermost part of Ohio. Pretty close to Erie, PA.

Terri, I should have ask this on the previous thread but how about all the forum info, etc. I know it is just a "click" but duh, it seems to be evading me...(normally fairly intelligent woman, go figure!)

Kt and Terri, Thank you. Wondering Terri, thank you for the welcome! I believe this is just what I need. Also, wondering if you could tell me where to look to find instructions on here to add a ticker tape to my profile. On my way to the search Kt. Good luck on your surgery!

Terri, Thank you for the insights. I appreciate it. I felt better just reading it. I suppose you are right. I wish I could find a lap band support group in my area. Thanks for the encouragement. I just hope I don't have to give up soooo many foods. You are right about the age thing. I just doesn't melt like it used to!!!
