I had my surgery last Tuesday 10-09-12 and am on a restricted diet for 6 weeks, low fat creamy soups, applesauce, protein shakes. My favorite thing so far has been sugar free pudding. What are good options that you ate and liked? What were your best soups? Thanks everyone.. -

This is a life choice the key word is CHOICE do not do this until you are mentally ready to change the way you eat. If you have thiscand eat bad still weight loss may be the worst of your problems because with the surgery you will not eat much so what you do eat has to be healthy full of nutrients and protein. You can do this.

Are You Changing The Way You Eat Before Pre-Op Diet?

A month before my surgery I put myself on a restriction I started with protein shake in the am and lunch and dinner. Then I started 2 protein shakes and just dinner. I did not want to jump into the 2 week pre-op cold Turkey that would be hard. -

In my opinion medifast is like any thing else even weight loss surgery you can cheat and gain the weight back its just harder to cheat with your stomach that is limited to.how much it can hold. Its 99% mental. Good luck I had me sleeve Tuesday and look toward to the future -
Update had my upper gi no leaks I'm starting ice chips and look fowardcto chicken broth tonight.

Well is 12:29 am 10/10/12 my surgery went great and I feel good. Best advice I can give is to get up and walk as soon as they will let you. And keep asking them to let you walk. Next thing follow your pre-op diet Dr said my liver looked great and made things easier on him.

Well tommrow is my big day I have to be at the hospital at 6am surgery at 7:30am... I am excitedly nervous...

Did my pre-op visit today with Dr. Cirbbins in Plano TX (he is a Plano "plane ole" Dr. get it lol) any way he said I looked great dropped 10 lbs in a week and am ready for Oct 9. Lets get this over so I can be on my way... Good luck and god bless everyone...

I really think alot of the people who have side effects are not following Dr. orders. I am sure there is a very small percentage that have problems though... -
Eating 2 Weeks Before Surgery Question.

My surgery is less than two weeks actually, its oct 9 and so far I have stuck to what is on the list my Dr gave me.. What would happen if I indulged a little like ate chicken for a dinner and had a few drinks one night? Has anyone done this? -

Alrighty thank you all very much... Its not a have to just going out of town for a fun weekend and just wanted to see what my boundries are, Mabey just a small piece of fish or chicken and veggies sounds good.. -
I am trying to get through this without much thought and lots of praying.. I hear a lot of people say the 2nd day they wonder why they did this because the pain is pretty intense... Any thoughts

Oct 9 I put myself on a protein shake diet 5 weeks ago, I just drink protein shakes and eat dinner. It will make the last two weeks before surgery easier then to stop eating cold turkey.. Good luck everyone and god bless
