I am 30 years old and just got engaged to the most amazing man in the world.
The thing about me is that while I didn't actually start being overweight until I was 19 I FELT like I have been heavy forever.
I think that has been my biggest problem, I looked in the mirror and saw and overweight person for so long that when I did actually start gaining weight I didn't notice. Now I look back at pictures of myself and I don't remember looking like that.
So anyway. I have tried everything~ Weightwatchers, Optifast, HCG~ And they all work for a little bit...until they didn't. I had just resigned to the fact that I was going to be heavy forever, and be alone forever....And then Kevin and I started dating. And he loves me so much and he loves me exactly the way that I am, and THAT is the most amazing feeling in the world. The only problem is, I start to get embarrassed for him. I imagine what other people say about me behind his back and I want to be the kind of woman that he should be proud of taking out into public.
There, of course, are other reasons I am doing this. All the medical reasons, diabetes’s runs in my family, as does high blood pressure. I don't want to drop dead now that I have this amazing life with an amazing man.
This whole thing is really new. I just started talking to the surgeon’s office on Tuesday. They checked with my insurance and we discovered that they will pay 100% of the procedure. I just need a note from my primary care physician, and I have an appointment with him on Monday. I am waiting for an appointment with the surgeon but that should happen in the next couple weeks.
I am super excited and super nervous
