Sleeve: The UNTOLD Story
Ms.AntiBand replied to NotTelling2013's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Absolutely! I was bored my first day in hospital and by that evening I was fit to be tied! My Cordinator made sure my leak test was the following morning so I could get going. Trish is the best and even loves shopping and historical sightseeing! Very knowledgeable. Went to hotel and spent the next days running around and then a full day in San Diego non stop. Old town San Diego is a lot of fun and very interesting -

I had the flu also. I lost 5lbs and was able to pretend I wasn't still in a big ass stall..I was happy!

OMG... I laugh so loud people around me thought I was crazy! Am I correct to assume you're on your pre-op diet? -
When were you able to eat "normal" again?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Crossfit4Me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope I never eat "normal" again! I don't want to eat anything I want. I don't mean to be harsh, because I know some just want to eat like everyone else. My problem.. I can't do that without gaining weight. For me it has to be all or none. I either live and eat healthy to lose/maintain or eat whatever and be unhealthy and become out of control .. Yet again, as like before I was sleeved. If you mean normal as in only eating healthy, I'm 8 weeks out and can eat all normal "good for me" things. -
You mean you have to send the entire amount prior to surgery? WOW! Apparently, others have done it and had no problem. Hope more speak up, be it good or bad, so you know

I'm a MX patient, but I never wired ANY money and would never if asked. I paid when they admitted me. No deposit just full price when I signed my admitting papers. Hope others can reassure you, but I can't :/

GAmom's play by play with pictures..Including stomach..Be warned LOL
Ms.AntiBand replied to KickRocks's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You stayed in the same hotel we did.. It's awesome and better than many hotels in the states. It reads as if your experience is exactly like mine. I didn't have any pain or issues. Different docs and Cordinator, but same remarkable experience! I loved my whole time and definitely loved the days filled with shopping and sight seeing.. That was the best! MX is a great place for great care.. I'll be going back for sure. My daughter and I are going back just for visiting .. Made some wonderful friends while there. So glad you had the same -
I think just to be safe go back to Clear liquids or at least just liquids for awhile and then hold off on any dairy just in case your system isn't ready for it. A lot of people are different as to when they can tolerate different things. I was clear liquids for 1 week, liquids or 2 weeks, puréed for 3 etc. Keep us posted and good Luck!

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?
Ms.AntiBand replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
See.. I wish I was losing like you and so many others! I guess the grass is always greener on the other side or in our case the scale is always better in the other bathroom? -
The side they removed my stomach from is numb
Ms.AntiBand replied to Lina12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I googled this question and most drs agree its most likely temporary nerve damage that will go away over time. They didn't mention any set length the numbness will last though..lol -
The side they removed my stomach from is numb
Ms.AntiBand replied to Lina12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A lot of peeps here have reported the same thing and it does go away eventually, but at various lengths. It's fairly normal post laparoscopic surgery -
I think they get tired of the same o same o.

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?
Ms.AntiBand replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Funny thing is there is always someone looking at our progress and wishing they were like us... There's always some we wish we're we're losing like too. I'm eight weeks out and I'm an extremely slow loser and huge staller. I'm not giving up though.. Nope nope nope I'm so much healthier and soooo much happier -
Should I be reading the after surgery posts?
Ms.AntiBand replied to LOVESAQHA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Jenn.. The drain didn't hurt at all coming out, it was just an unexplainable weird feeling. I actually laughed because I've never felt anything like that. Did. Not. Hurt. As for reading everything? I don't know.. Everyone is so different as to whether they have pain and then everyone is different as to how they tolerate pain. I will admit I read one post that if I was just getting into it.. I would have run away! But then, some people like drama and so it's hard to rely on everything you read. Doc is the best source of info -
leaving for mexico tomorrow
Ms.AntiBand replied to lotti's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I wore jeans and sweatshirt to and back and I brought Jammie pants and used the gowns to walk the halls. For running around TJ shopping and sightseeing I wore jeans and a sweatshirt because I'm a very cold person, but my daughter wore shorts, tee shirt and sandles or running shoes. In San Diego it poured so we were sorry we didn't have coats, but it didn't stop us from going every place we could find and have fun while there -
Good luck and congrats on your new journey

Grieving the Loss of a our Friend.
Ms.AntiBand replied to courtoomp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There was a point where I actually panicked when I thought about not being able to eat like I used to. That's when I went on a horrific eating binge and overrate EVERYTHING I could get my hands on. Gained a lot of weight, but I made myself hate food at that point. Luckily.. I don't miss food like I thought I would. Things change after surgery nd for the better! Once you lose some weight you know things are possible and you're really on a postive journey. I love my sleeve! -
Can we block certain people?
Ms.AntiBand replied to KickRocks's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
If someone is that bothersome .. Please report them -
okay, NOW I'm panicking...
Ms.AntiBand replied to Bree's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Glad you found it! There's no way I'd go without my passport... It's just not a chance I'm willing to take. I went to Canada without and I couldn't get back. My husband had to drive up to give it to me. Ugh! -
Wow.. Good job.. Congrats! My surgery was 12-14-12 and I'm an extremely slow loser at only 35ish lbs gone

How does alcohol affect you different now?
Ms.AntiBand replied to ShrinkingInSeattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got pretty tipsy after two glasses of wine, but I think it's because it's been so long since I've had a drink. -
This morning I got 6 inches (14ozs) cut from my hair.. Does that count?
