Introduction - Hello every one
Ms.AntiBand replied to acummins73's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
There are quite a few sleever who have become lactose intolerant. We never know what foods we can no longer tolerate until we try them and find out Welcome Alicia.. Glad to have you here on your healthy journey. I'm also sure others will help with all your questions -

New here..band to VSG revision 4/24/13
Ms.AntiBand replied to jlobyxmas's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Good decision to remove the band.. IMHO Because I had to wait 18 months before my stomach healed and I could get sleeved, I gain a gazillion lbs. that's when I had to change my mind set. I'm done being unhealthy and eating like a pig.. AND letting food rule my life. I'M DONE! I refuse to fail, I refuse to be unhealthy, I refuse to be fat, I refuse to be unhappy because of being fat. I WILL SUCCEED! Since my surgery I have never felt so healthy. Everything is going well and I have no desire to eat unhealthy. It's a mind set and you have to be in it to succeed. Are you there? If not... Get there! -
Does this happen to anyone else?
Ms.AntiBand replied to magpie30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make sure you're getting your fluids and not overheating or eating to fast. -
My plan is to keep the empty carbs and calories in check until I reach my goal. After that I will see if I even get the desire back Unfortunately, there's no magic surgery that lets us eat just anything. We will forever need to take charge of our diet and make a healthy decision in what we put in our mouths. Hopefully the sleeve will encourage us to continue to eat healthy, keep active and be happy.. I'm so looking forward to being the new me Good luck

Confused about artificial sweeteners
Ms.AntiBand replied to Susie1226's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Artificial sweetners make your body crave more sugar just as refined sugars do. That's the big thing why most say stay away from them. If you do want to avoid the A/S and still need sugar use natural sweetners like stevia or the like, (can't recall the names) Crystal Light Pure is the only drink enhancer that I have found that has stevia as the sweetner -
Lots of questions about possible revision
Ms.AntiBand replied to RevisionReally's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
OP, I can't really help you with deciding which revision to go for, but I do have very strong feeling about the band. Especially if someone is having issues with theirs. Don't fool around and wait much longer. You're welcome to check my story in my profile That aside, I am sleeved now and I'm extremely pleased. I am a slow loser, but I'm ok with that. I am so much more healthier than when banded. The sleeve was as drastic as I was going to go and it's what you make it. As I said in another post, I am hell bent on making this work and that's 90% of the battle -

Oh great, 2 weeks until my VSG surgery & NOW my band decides to start working?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Raquel313's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a revision and I'm soooo happy with the sleeve. It's nothing Iike the band and all it's maintenance .. Not to mention the horrid complications. If you're having serious issues with your band that you feel are damaging you need to call your dr and ask to move your date up. At the very least get the band out. -
Yes, I asked for something because I spent the night prior to my surgery and figured I wouldn't be able to sleep. They obliged my wish and I slept like a baby

No regrets here and I wish it was doable 20years ago. I love the fact that my life no longer revolves around food. I choose when and what to eat instead of spending all my time shoving any and everything in my mouth. I'm feeling healthy and I'm like other normal people now. Unfortunately, this isn't the surgery for everyone and they don't find out until post-op that they can't let go of their addiction to food. Therapy may be a healthy choice for some of you now that you're having issues post-op WLS is what you make it. I am hell bent on being a better me

Looking for WLS graph showing expected loss over 12-18 months
Ms.AntiBand replied to krenzema's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cheri.... How are you doing? When will you be shaing baby pics? -
I must be missing something. How can you get bigger because of skin.. You're not getting anymore skin than you had in there before.

First, if you're still on pain meds that could be hindering things. Miralax or if you're real desperate ... A suppository maybe?

Can I crush my chewable vitamins?
Ms.AntiBand replied to MK1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would think so. Whether you crush them with your teeth or something else shouldn't make a difference. Mixing it with food also shouldn't make a difference since it all lands in the same spot. -
Same here. No pain meds as soon as I was awake from surgery I refused them. I was driving on the way home. Everyone is different

Relax... Stressing over things will not help a thing Prayers to you for a fast and easy recovery

Yep.. That stuff is wickedly nasty, isn't it? LOL.. It's actually flavored to help it taste better, I can't imagine it worse! Glad your doing well... LOSER!
