When I go to the yogurt shop I get the simple cup. Hey don't usually care if others are paying for a normal serving. They also have fresh fruit if you think you need something more.. Depending on stge you're in
  3. That's awesome.. Glad you didn't give up! You seem to have the right mindset to get things done.. Congrats and good luck!

How to deal with the disappointment

Seems like quite a few of us have expeienced this disappointment. I feel for you.. Seriously! When I found out they took my band (in order to save my life) I went ballistic and they had to sedate me. Then I had to wait 18 months before I was cleared for the sleeve. They weren't even sure my stomach would survive. Anyway.. Hang in there and stay positive!

    post op help

Well, it's hard to answer because everyone is different. My surgery was as if I hadn't had surgery at all and I would have been fine caring for a five year old. On the other hand, many had issues that would make it difficult to care for a child of any age. Personally, I think as long as your child knows you've had surgery (no need for details), but make sure he understands your tummy will have a boo boo and needs gentle care etc.. It also depends on your child mannerism and temperament etc. you know best. Maybe lots of play dates?

    Prettynpink headed to Mexico!

Yippee.. Prayers your way and keep us posted
  8. I had to laugh.. Because everyone's before and after pics continue to totally amaze me. I'm in awe that weight can completely change someone looks plus make them shine with such happiness and pride! GOOD JOB.. & CONGRATS!
  9. I'm a huge self proclaimed advocate for MX and wholeheartedly recommend the surgeons there. BUT... Right now, I believe you need to wait on the fact that no one, anywhere, should consider major surgery with the added stress you have. That is not a healthy choice. Unfortunately, your husband has caused unnecessary problems for you in your journey to a healthier you. Arrggh.. To your family!
  10. We all know we can succeed with diets. We all have done it a gazillion times... But what happens after that? We end up fatter and even unhealthier than before. It's a non ending cycle that will eventually kill us or come close to it by making us useless humans.

    Being released form this band

Good for you! You will love your sleeve and it's so different from the band. You will be able to eat healthy foods again and feel healthy too! Congrats!
  12. My PCP is fine with running my tests and doing follow up. If you don't have one just hunt for a PCP you can begin with.

    Seeds...Flax, Chia Seed

I have had gound flax seeds since I was a couple weeks out mixed in my protein shakes. Never had BM trouble. I eat sunflower seeds all the time too... Since 2 months out. My commute is 70 minutes each way so something is a must

    Surgery Successful!

Welcome to the losers side of your journey! Congrats!
  15. No insurance coverage in MX.. Unless its urgent. Because of our confidence in the dr we are all contributing towards her cost. Out of pocket/co pmt costs in the states are almost equal to full surgery costs in MX. On a side note.. To the OP and family, The surgery cost in MX is equal to their cost of overhead/living down there.. Just as our surgery cost up here is equal to cost of overhead/living here People need to realize that the surgery in MX isn't less expensive because it's less quality.. It's very expensive to the citizens of MX. They can't afford the medical treatments we get there like we can't afford it out of pocket here

    NSV

    How exciting for you! Congrats!
  17. Hallelujah Hallelujah! Fat is fat.. And OP, show me where someone here wasn't supporting you because of "YOUR LOW BMI" and they will be addressed and I'll show some sympathy.
  18. I read your topics/posts and I think I can honestly see the problem. Every time you say I'm a low BMI'er it's just like saying.. "Hey, I'm not as fat as everyone here" And you repeatedly mention it. Not sure who you're point is for, your self or others, but regardless of your low BMI.. You're obese, and obese is obese on this forum? Maybe tone it down and more support will be right there for you?
  19. I was 190 when I came here prior to my sleeve and NO ONE.. Ever said anything of this sort to me. Fact, I've gotten so much support from everyone from all sizes. We're all in the same boat.. We eat food we love and have to kick the habit. We're all working for the same goal. I must have missed the boat your riding in or I would have said something
  20. TO HAVE AN ORGAN REMOVED? Talk about drama .. Good Lord! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I am a real Seattle person who has gone to MX many times for surgery and will go back. One of my daughters has insurance coverage and will be going to MX because she trusts my docs extensive experience over docs here in the states. My other daughter is going in the fall. I'm on my way to work, but PM me if you need to talk and I'll make my phone # available to you Prayers for you.. And to your family

    What am i doing wrong?

Readjust things like your carbs and water intake. More water more loss. Don't let your body think its starving. AND... Sometimes you have to be patient. You may be a slow loser like some of us. BUT... The weight will come off, I promise!

    Pain!

It's possible that it's your sciatic nerve. It's an oddity that happens to quite a lot of us who have lost weight and either carry ourselves differently, walk, sleep or stand differently from what our norm us to be. Mine was lower right back and then around to my front to where I thought maybe I had a gall bladder trouble. It was also a 9 on the pain scale. It wouldn't go away and got so bad I went to the ER and they gave me a muscle relaxant and I was better. it happened again a month later and luckily the doc had sent me home with an extra pill. Search hip back pain and you may find more on the forum
  23. Dr Srikanth did my last band removal and he was great, but Dr Kelly Clinch did my first emergency band removal and is a super dr too. Wonderful mannerism and great guy.
