How do you know when to stop?

Isn't Martin and normal in the same sentence.. an oxymoron? (Actually that probably goes for most of us, but more noticeable and fun to point out Martin)

    Greek Yogurt Recs?

I took me a couple months before I could begin to like Greek yogurt, it was just too thick for my taste. Now I eat black cherry Chobani (14 gr protein) mixed in my cottage cheese w/pineapple (11gr protein) and love it.

How do you know when to stop?

If I mistakenly eat too much or too fast I get hiccups or chest pain. I try to measure everything so I don't eat more than I should. That wa I can keep track of things too. At first, you learn by trial and error..it's just hurts sometimes

What to do What to do!

Try a variety of different shakes NOW until you find one you like. You're going to need a favorite one post-op. It's best to find it now . And yes.. If you don't find one you like there will come a time where you gag just thinking about it let alone drink it

Where the heck is my restriction

I'm going to play the devils advocate here and just say.. Maybe it's time you both could benefit from therapy? I mean a lot of us can ... and do. You don't seem to have your mind set on anything, but eating and getting full. This is going to have to change in order to progress on any wls journey. We're all food addicts and that is one of the steps we have to work on and change. Without the willingness to change your old ways.. Nothing is going to work whether you have sleeve or not. Your main focus CANNOT be food.

    Chia Seeds

That and flax seeds are great. NOT UNTIL you're on solid food though.

    My story

I had a stall that lasted several weeks.. As in over 7 weeks! Then it has been just a pound here and there. BE PATIENT! It's a journey not a race ;D

    Stage 2

I pretty much tried anything that could be puréed, but only did a couple bites of new things to see if I could tolerate it. I puréed chicken in broth and added it to almost every liquid soup My main food sorce was puréed chicken in blk bean soup, tortilla soup, potato soup etc., Greek yogurt, protein shakes, baby food pouches ( yes, seriously,) I couldn't eat more than a few bites for the longest time so taste wasn't a big factor until I got to mushies. Oh, I stayed away from smoothies because they tend to be loaded with refined or natural sugar and I felt best not to defeat the purpose of things

    Pre OP

Wow.. Just around the corner.. Congrats! It's such an exciting feeling to get the journey going, isn't it?

Where the heck is my restriction

Maybe the turkey stuck in your chest meant you were full? You have to learn the new signs and they may not feel like the normal way you used to feel. If you feel hungry you're attitude probably has a lot to do with it. Set your mind to everything positive and try to get past the negativity you're reflecting right now. Even if you are hungry.. If you eat the right protein your new tummy isn't going to allow you to over eat.. It will tell you. And sometimes it will tell you in unkind ways

    Sitting at my desk....

I used the sugar free torani to flavor mine.
  18. That's how I feel.. And my kids are the same. They wear all their sports scars with pride and a story to go with every single one! Some are from being stupid and those have the best stories that as a parent you never should have been told.. Holy crap, the things I didn't know
  19. I've had 6 laparoscopic surgeries regarding wls and a couple were able to use same spots ... But my stomach has many scars and some are from 8 years ago until recently. Can't say mine look like the normal laparoscopic surgery.. I look more like a drive by shot gun victim. oh well!

How Much Did Price Affect Your Decision?

If I had to remain in the hospital another night they would have had to put me under. I was ready to leave and get going the night of my am surgery. I felt like a caged animal. I had two nights in hospital (3 counting night pre-op) and two in hotel. The hotel time was marrrrrvalous.. And so much fun.

    I'm doing it this time!

Good for you.. You need to do it and stop yoyo'ing your life away! Thats what I was doing and my PCP told I'm slowing killing, myself by doing that. One good thing about being self pay... It' a 12 grand incentive to push you when you need it.
