    Please Keep Us Posted

I'm 4 months out and everything is great. Previously 2x banded/unbanded, 18 month recovery then sleeved. Surgery was nothing and not a bit of pain anywhere. Absolutely .. Easiest surgery ever! Back to normal as soon as I woke from surgery and ready to go. I LOVE MY SLEEVE AND THE NEW HEALTHY ME
  2. LOL.. When my band was removed I was 104lbs .. To say the least I gain during those 18 months.
  3. Read my story in my profile and read my posts/threads also. Stop killing yourself with the band. Get it out NOW! I'm sleeved and happy. You will have to know this won't work like the band.. You have to set you mind right and you will fail if you think it's going to let you eat like you're used to eating.
  4. Yep, it can go either way. If your band hasn't done any damage then your doc can sleeve you the same time. As with me .. I had to wait 18 months to recover from the band complications and damage. Good luck
  5. I can't say vanity was my main reason. I'm a low BMI'er and I knew I was heading to health problems so that was my main focus.. Looking and feeling better is just a perk that comes with the new healthy me
  6. I'm 4 months out also and you've lost a lot more than me. I'm ok with it though because every once in awhile a pound or two loss sneaks in and I'm good to go for a bit more. It's a life change and the longer I have to learn new ways is best for me Hang in there and you may want o measure .. That could show loss also

    Swollen ankles

Yes.. I have swollen ankles. I did when I was down to 104 too. Have had multitude of tests, but no explanation. I'm taking diuretic meds right now, but I think I'm forever going to have cankles (sp?)

    Any seattle sleevers ?

Ok.. (again) I'm in the Bothell/Kenmore/Kirkland area.. Need to gather and support!
  10. Yes, I would recommend having the band removed before going to the sleeve. Just because if you can't afford to lose about 20 lbs you may go too far below a healthy weight at the beginning of the VSG. You're doc will know best after you consultation. Good luck.. And get rid of that nasty band. (read my story on my profile)

    I need your wise words

I changed during my food funeral. I was worried I'd miss food so I went crazy and gain an extra 10 lbs because of it. In the process it made me hate food. By the time I got close to my pre-op diet ... I was soooooo sick of food I started my pre-op several days early. Haven't missed food since. Of course, my way is certainly not a recommended course, but it's what happened to me. I don't miss any foods. I'm almost 4 months post-surgery and never been happier with the new healthy me. Now, I proudly relate myself with the healthy people I see biking, walking, excercising, eating right, etc. I no longer grossly over eat to where people notice or can't bike because I can't, or can't ski because I can't get up if I fall etc. I'm a new me and you too, will love it when you ge there

    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

Get a hat and sunscreen on girl.. You're going to age before your time.
  13. Holy crap... Can't imagine living with the band that long! Actually, you're not living much at all. I'm assuming because ( like I was) you are in piss poor health from the repeated vomiting. You need the band out if it's only letting succeed at puking. Before you do anything you need a physical with complete labs. You are no doubt anemic or close to it. Get healthy then do a revision. You're slowly killing your self When I decided on the revision my BMI was 18, but since it took me 18 months to heal from band damage I went from 18.. To.. Can't remember, but it says on my ticker below. Get healthy and commit yourself to health not vanity. It's the only way of succeeding with the sleeve. Good luck:D
  14. Shame on them for making you feel doubt.. Just shame on them. Prayers for you to have safe surgery and speedy recovery. If you have time don't forget to have fun down there like some of us did. And take pics to show off your trip to the nay sayers

    Any regrets at all?

I can't imagine regretting the loss of my old self. Just thinking about the gross way I'd eat and the way I looked.. It's embarrassing. I was a slob sloth and ate like a pig. Don't get me wrong.. I'm not dissing animals, I just don't want to be one. OR LOOK LIKE ONE!

    So sick.....

Is this a man cold/flu?( BTW, How does that work with gay people?) If its a man cold/flu there's no help or cure. You're going to die for sure because guys get the same EXACT illness as woman , but much worse and it's always deemed terminal according to guys AND NO THIS ISN'T MAN BASHING.. I'm just having fun.. With facts, hehehe!

    So many Dr's in Mexico!…help!

Yep, have to agree 100% on this. Trish can't be beat when it comes to cordinators. Dr Ponce n staff are excellent. Good luck! When you narrow it down be sure to talk personally with several patients from the docs you're considering.

On a serious note, those who push their sleeve (apparently, not us) beware of the consequences. You may think its a good thing to repeatedly push to the limit, but it could be a deadly game. That's what I did with my band and paid a price.. With my life. I refuse to do it with my sleeve and I'm glad the majority of us are on the right track. Learning the new life of a healthy recovering addict is the only way we can be what we truly want to be BTW.. I looked up Psycho Donuts, THOSE ARE WICKED and I just may have to taste one when I'm down that way!
