    18 weeks post op

Wow.. Congrats! You looks ten years younger plus you look so much happier
  2. HAHAHA.. When I read what Susan wrote about you the first thing I thought of was.. No, no.. You mean **** stirrer, but you said it with more class
  3. I agree.. There are some superior Cordinators that go way beyond the normal call of their job requirements. Fortunately, I had one nd still in contact with her today nd plan on returning to visit. Research is the key to getting what you want. Now, I know some say the thread is dead... But I just got here and have to add my two cents. I wasn't aware anyone was ever sent to the hotel with a drain and I know my doc doesn't do that. If a drain is necessary then it means you remain in hospital care. If the drain is leaking then it is either full (probmatic in many ways) and needs emptying, the tubing/incision is in need of care or there's a malfunction in the equipment. The OP.. Had legit concerns and I'm glad she shared them. People.. Research the docs you consider as well as the company and ask about more than just the price. Most of us have wonderful experiences down there and will gladly answer your questions.
  4. Jeeze Louise... Laura, where's your stick to beat this dead horse thread?

    Just beginning

I wish I could have done this 25 years ago. Good for you Will.. Don't waste another minute. Of course, it's not always going to be easy, but I believe it's a lot easier than living unhappy and unhealthy like we were before surgery (and possiby not living much longer) Congrats.. To the new soon to be healthy you!

    Please be honest...

I do caffeine everyday. Americano with sugar free torani syrup. No carbs, very few calories
  7. I was up front with my PCP but he was just so thrilled I got rid of the band. He doesn't care if I did the surgery myself while out of the country. He's there to provide care to me regardless if why, what kind, or where I've had previous care. All docs should be this way. If yours isn't ... find another. If needed, your PCP can consult with a bariatric doc or If it's something outside of their level they will arrange for you to see the specialist. Costly, but if it's urgent that's the way it is.
  8. I didn't worry about carrying the weight.. Just the lifting. I took the baby.. Well, 1 year old in the pack without a problem.

    Who can beat this?

LOL.. Too funny! I smell foods too.. Then I roll my eyes and laugh.
  10. I had a several week stall and then just a pound loss here and there. It just happens and I'm ok with it. I eat right and that's my main goal.. Losing weigh is just a perk to me

    pedicure

This is great. Nothing is worse than scratchy rough feet in bed... Or anywhere!
  12. I take Effexor for migraines and didn't have any trouble, but I didn't miss any doses. Did you? That could be the problem since you have to stop by going high dose to low and if you start again its supposed to be low dose to high.

    Band :-(

I'm only 4 months post-op, but I can say I'm so much happier and safer with the sleeve. I'm losing, just not break neck speeds, BUT IM LOSING and that's what matters and I'm learning to eat healthy. I never learned anything with the band other than to eat, puke, lose weight, eat, puke eventually die.. Etc. NOT A GOOD WAY! I love the new healthy me and my sleeve

    Any seattle sleevers ?

Cowgirl Jane I live a half block off of Samamish River (slough) in Kenmore right off of the Burke-Gilman trail that leads into your trail. Very interested in walking.
  15. Wow.. You're amazing! Be very proud
  16. The first couple weeks are the most critical. You need to avoid lifting him. My dr showed me how I can lift a 23 pounder once my two weeks were up. Be sitting and put him on you lap nd then get up. You should be fine I don't have any suggestions for your first two weeks. I had to avoid being around my grandson because I kept forgetting and just naturally picked him up and someone had to remind me not to. It's hard. If you can afford it maybe hire some one to babysit at your house or maybe 10 days in a day care? Good luck

    Daughter Seeking Information

That's so sweet of you to do for your mom.. You're a good daughter. I recommend you research in depth and then some. Don't go with your (hers) first and only choice. After you narrow your choices down then contact actually patients (here on the forum) for each dr and personally talk with them. Don't fool around.. Make sure your confident in your decision and you'll feel much better about the whole journey. Research, research research.. You're putting your life in someone's hands and need to know you're safe. This goes for all drs even in the states Good luck and feel free to pm me. I've been to MX for several surgeries and so have my daughters

    this.is.a.b*tch.!:(

I despise insurance companies and they are nothing but money hungry pit bulls (my apologies to pit bulls) Anyway,I'm so sorry you have had so much trouble with your journey and I commend you on your perseverance .. Good for you! I don't think I could have continued to fight the insurance and all the hoops, loops and Dupes they present Did I mention I hate insurance companies? Argghh..

    Daughter Seeking Information

Good for you to be seeking and researching.. But why isn't mom doing it? Don't know who your possible doc is so I can't comment. Search in the search bar for alighterme or the docs name and you'll get plenty to read

    Any seattle sleevers ?

Hey babushka .. Good luck and you'll do great! Evergreen is a good place. Keep us posted
  22. While you're waiting for approval research the MX docs so you are well prepared.
  23. I don't recommend the band, but you and your doc are the only ones who know best. The band has vast more complications compared to sleeve and is continously problematic to most .. and is high maintenance. With any surgery there are complications
  24. Ms.AntiBand

    Half way!

    Great job.. Congrats!
