Desperately seeking advice
Ms.AntiBand replied to canadianchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had over a 7 week stall plus I'm an extremely low loser. I don't sweat it because I know I'm eating right and I'm a lot healthier. That was my main goal. If it's something that's really bothering you, I suggest try everything the others suggest -
I slept on my sides immediately. I wasn't even aware I had a drain until I got up to pee.. Heh, then I was bit more careful not to bother it if I slept on that side

Mirena During Surgery
Ms.AntiBand replied to cerenatee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the IUD on all 6 of my surgeries and all docs were aware of it and it wasn't a concern -
Uh oh i just cheated day before sugery!help
Ms.AntiBand replied to birdie1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There's actually one doc down there that allows a meal before surgery, but I can't remember who.. Maybe yours..lol! Just be sure to let them know if it has to be cancelled I'm sure it's only by a day..maybe Seriously though, it's extremely important you let them know. You can't play around with the surgery or the anesthesia dangers -
Nosey folks!

Have you found a Dr. To do follow up care?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Kristen125's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
This question is being asked quite often. (also need to delete you double post) My PCP does all my follow up care.. And always has with all my MX surgeries. -
Long term Mexican surgeries success?
Ms.AntiBand replied to marielove's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had my lapbands in MX and now my sleeve and I've never had any problem with State side docs caring for me. Maybe it was because your aunt had a procedure that wasn't yet done in the US? I've had an array of complications from my lapband and never ever had any issue with getting care from many drs here. My PCP is well aware of my sleeve and does all my follow up work. -
Long term Mexican surgeries success?
Ms.AntiBand replied to marielove's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Long term success for MX patients are the same as other patients. As for care we use our PCP for follow up and if there are any issues the PCP feels are beyond his expertise, then we are recommended to a specialist. But seriously, if your US doc refuses to treat you because of past treatment ...I wouldn't want him treating me anyway. That's shoddy ethics right there. -
When did you start to feel "normal" again?
Ms.AntiBand replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's not against the grain of what I said... I was eating normal once I started solid food.. About 2 months. I feel so fortunate that I have no issues or set backs. I hope this for everyone *does a Lil' happy dance* -
I only have myself to blame for everything that happened. I was very aware of things going wrong, but vanity took over. I'm on a new journey with the sleeve and I'm the healthiest I've been in 30 years. I never EVER ate right with the band. The only thing that would stay down was ice cream and milkshakes. Now I haven't had either one for 4 months and eat nothing but good for my body stuff. I love my sleeve

When a doctor is discouraging you from a lapband.. This should be a your red flag. I too, was very defensive about my lapband, but only because I was skinny ( but unhealthy as hell) and that was all I was wanting. I could sell you on a lapband in a second. I sold it to myself twice and fought like a pit bull when they said they were removing it to save my life.. I fought until I did die. (read my profile story) Don't be as stupid as me.. If I knew about the sleeve I wouldn't have wasted $100,000 on band and complications. Your doctor is probably very aware of the lapband failure and vast complication rate..

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
Ms.AntiBand replied to *Dean*'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
Dang it! For 2 months now every time this thread gets bumped I see it and feel so flipping guilty for not doing what y'all are doing. Sooooo... Well, ok... LOL, not so guilty that I'm going to get my gnome a$$ up and running, though. -
What's up with red meat?
Ms.AntiBand replied to heartonmysleevey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Red meat is harder to digest and some pork is, also. As are some veggies like asparagus, broccoli, cabbage etc. Try to avoid these until further out and try by sample until you know it's stomach friendly to you now. Everyone's is different. I don't have any problems with anything.. Just can't have but a little bit -
Yeah.. But, there comes a time in ones life that you just don't want to have your body vibrating!

When did you start to feel "normal" again?
Ms.AntiBand replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep.. Loaded question. Normal is different for everyone. (like, I've always thought I was a normal person, but a lot of people would disagree) Once I was on normal foods I ordered (and always have) from the childrens menu or seniors. Doesn't matter your age.. No one is going to argue with you. I've done it all my life and never had an issue. Now, what was the question? Oh, yeah.. For me nothing gets stuck nor do I vomit. I feel full so I know to stop. At the worst I get hic ups if I push it just a little far. I felt the new normal living within a couple months. -
For me.. It's a slider food and a waste of calories.

Good tasting protein drink.........something i would have enjoyed prior to surgery...or is that too much to ask for.....
Ms.AntiBand replied to Srios's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Only ones I like are the Costco premier and EAS strawberry. Try adding torani sf flavor if you need to have added taste. Also.. These two are pre made and work great for us on the go and don't have time to mix from a tub Oh.. And my family loves the premier shake so you may want to hide yours -

What did it feel like when you woke up from surgery?
Ms.AntiBand replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different so you'll get a lot of stories. I woke up I was fine. It maybe felt like the day after working out.. Just sore. Aside from that I had no issues and wanted to get up and go home. I walked, read, got bored etc, but that's probably the extent of my complaints. -

Clothes for hospital and after
Ms.AntiBand replied to Luvlvnlyfe5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went in my jeans and hoody and came home in the same jeans and hoody. Had jammie pants for in hospital, but I used their gowns because there is always seepage with drains. -
I'm pretty sure it's more or bypass patients since they have such an absorption issue. Most places check your blood to see if you're healthy prior to donating so you should be good.
