My hairs falling out :'(
Ms.AntiBand replied to newme31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too, but I was expecting it. I have never seen anyone complain about going bald so hopefully this stage passes quickly. I had my hair done on Sat and my stylist had so much hair in her brush, on her self and on the floor.. She actually tried hiding it so I wouldn't panic. I just told her to collect it and weigh it so I can claim it as weight loss -
People and thier opinions
Ms.AntiBand replied to heatwhip's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is just so wrong in soooo many different ways! I'm struck speechless! -
I never had an issue after about a week out. I guzzle my water bottle as I did prior to my sleeve... But I can only eat a small amt of solids. So perfect I LOVE MY SLEEVE!

Too much weight loss
Ms.AntiBand replied to smithpy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well.. Leave it to me to play the bad guy here, but.. This can be a slippery slope. We need to be careful because the scale doesn't always tell you want or when you look good. You may be losing a lot of inches and not pounds. If you go too far you look like death warmed over. Trust me.. I thought I looked good at 104 because that's what I was when I got married. Not so. My daughter made me stand in front of a mirror and look at myself. It was sickening. I was all bones and nothing else. We.. As fat fighters don't always see the real us because we focus so much on what we think we should weigh. Focus on health and stop obsessing with the scale. My goal weight will be 130 and the 125 on my ticker is a red flag SIREN for my own good. I know right now I'm in trouble if I think it's ok to go lower then my 125 marker -
Kidney stones/gall stones are a very common issue with, not just WLS, but any diet. You lose a lot of weight and it can cause many organs to act up Aussielady.. So sorry you're having issues with eating. I always thought you were doing great.. But if you vomit and slim all the time then you have serious issues that need attention right away. You are going to quickly become anemic and your bone density is also going to suffer. Get to the bottom of this ASAP.. Take care of yourself.. I don't see how this is just a normal thing to accept as a flaw in VSG

Really confused and overwhelmed
Ms.AntiBand replied to dork's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Narrow you search down and then pm the patients of drs you are considering. Talk with several from several different docs -
You may want to let your mom know that diet pills come with risks, also

Absolutley, some cause weight gain? I hope your doc is aware of you stoping your meds. Suddenly not taking your antidepressant can cause seriously effects. The following are an example of the meds with possible weight gain effects Certain tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline, imipramine (Tofranil) and doxepin (Silenor) Certain monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as tranylcypromine (Parnate) and phenelzine (Nardil) Paroxetine (Paxil), a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) Mirtazapine (Remeron), which is an atypical antidepressant — medication that doesn't fit neatly into another antidepressant category On the flip side though, everyone responds to meds differently and can lose weight on the same meds others gain with. Talk to your doc about changing your med type to a different one. There are some on the market that are known not to cause weight gain

Care after surgery
Ms.AntiBand replied to Luvlvnlyfe5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A lot of people won't need pain meds and its perfectly safe to drive if you're not on pain meds other than OTC types. If you feel like driving then do. You wil be sore, but it's manageable. -

50 POUNDS DOWN! PRE-OP!
Ms.AntiBand replied to makemyownluck's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your attitude is AWESOME! I love it and its perfect for this new journey you're on. There's going to be some down times, but as long as you pick up on the positive it's going to work. I'm so excited for you and YES.. Take before pics. I wish I did better ones than I have. Good luck.. Although I don't think you'll need luck with a great mind set you have. Keep us updated -
I didn't have pain either. Or stitches.. Or a three foot tube.. Holy cow! Of course, all of are different, but since you have a doc, ask him if there may be a problem.

Anyone w/ a BMI under 40 and self pay?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Linkin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I decided to do a revision my BMI was 18.4 but I had to wait 18 months to heal from lapband damage so my surgery BMI was 33 ... BEST DECISION EVER! No doubt I'd be way off any BMI chart by now. My life is completely different and food is only a staple to remain alive... Not an every minute thought. It's not magic. You have to know what you're getting yourself into and have a plan. -
Did you have second thoughts?
Ms.AntiBand replied to ladylaura's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As soon as I made the decision it was going to happen I didn't think twice. Then a week before my surgery I started overthinking ... That only lasted until, once again, I was stuffing my fat face with food I wasn't even hungry for and I knew then I was doomed if didn't go through with the surgery. Not a single regret since. I LOVE MY SLEEVE! -
SEEEEEEEEE..... You get away with everything!?!! ;P

I've had a cheese burger, but I order it without the bun and they serve it on a big lettuce leaf and I fold it like a taco and eat it.. I order extra pickles like its a delicacy. I no longer have any desire for bread.. Thank goodness! Watch your calories, sugars and starch on this journey to a new healthy you...

Wait a minute.. Why is it Laura always gets to swear and I don't? Laura, Laura, Laura

Sure a drink or maybe even two isn't going to hurt you except calorie wise. Just go easy ... its been awhile so its going to hit you like you're wallflower BUT LIKE THE GREAT LAURAOZ SAID... Dr orders prevail

Just curious, but why is ths a man question?

If someone started typing instead of you..this most likely means your pc is hacked. I used to do that all the time to people... Just for ****$ n giggles and to watch them freak out. I am reformed and a decent person now.. But beware, not many hackers are nice.

So for real, how do you chew your food into a mashy mush of ...
Ms.AntiBand replied to LipstickLady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't chew any differently than I did before. I did my food phases and the only thing any one has to be aware of is to eat slowly. There's nothing different about us but the amount we can eat. I don't chew to smithereens because I don't want to be able to stuff as much as I can in my new sized stomach. Once you're onto normal solid foods you need to eat slower so you are aware when you are full and then NOT overfill yourself. Ignore these steps and you're asking for problems. -

Fellow band to sleevers: was your post op food progression slow?
Ms.AntiBand replied to kshallow's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's why they made me wait. Because of the probability of sleeve complications most surgeon won't do a revision if there has been past band complications or band damage. I had to wait 18 months before a surgeon would ok me.
