    Dec 13 2012 sleeved

WOW! lol.. Maybe, I shouldn't have read this. I'm 12/14 Congrats.. You've done a great job!

Been a rough week or two or three

I'm so sorry for all you're going through. Glad you tackled it quickly... Something I don't do well with at all. Thanks for the reminder that we have to nip it before it get worse. Take care.. Go on a positive ride and clear the ickies out
  4. I didnt keep track other than on my ticker, but I have a little to report. I lost my first 20lbs the first 2 weeks and then nothing. It's been 5 months and I sneakily lose a pound here and there without even knowing until I happen to weigh myself. I've had up to a 7 week stall and many others, but I'm completely fine with my loss. I guess my stats are 1st 2 weeks = 20 pounds 4 1/2 months = 20 some pounds (can't remember without looking at my ticker)

    Length of Hospital Stay

Most US stays are 1 night because that's what insurance dictates. If needed your doc will get extra days for you. MX docs require 2 or more nights
  6. My friend moved to Ireland and is maybe 110 and her neighbor asked her!?! WTH people are so rude. I NEVER ASK. Even when I think it's very obvious.. I never ask or comment. If they are preggers and want to discuss it ... they would. Seriously.. Stupid people!

    I'm at my goal size!

My doc ok'd me for the sleeve when my BMI was 18. Unfortunately, I had to wait due to band damage. By the time I was revised my BMI was 33 something. Everyone has a reason or story. Regardless of why we decide to do what we do is certainly open for discussion, but let's keep it cordial. Congrats to the OP for jmaking goal.. It's a mission we're all on and can relate Aussie.. We're here for you and I hope your doc is helping you like he/she should be. What have they dx as being the problem? ... This far out is a scary thought for many of us, too! Take care and keep us posted on how you're doing and being treated
  8. Holy crap.. Talk about stressful! WOW! Congrats and prayers and good luck and all that stuff

I just want to feel healthy and beautiful!

YES... Take pics! This will be so encouraging. Some of my encouraging moments are when I check the before and after pics on the forum. Amazing results are to be found there. Stay pumped and positive! This is something I have done for 5 months now and refuse to let anything get me down.

    What made YOU successful?

I'm succeeding because I refuse to fail. I don't have a support group or a local surgeon, but, I have my PCP for after care. I'm pretty much doing this on my own. Because of that I've become very determined and driven. My family supports me, but it's not the same as a group of other wls peeps. I get a lot of encouragement from y'all here and that helps more than many realize.

Breakfast: 2 slices provolone cheese Snack: 4 bites cottage cheese/blk cherry Greek yogurt Lunch: forgot to eat Snack: handful of Kix Dinner: 2 slices Swiss cheese, oh and a mini babybel And about 6 gallons of flavor enhanced water.. Ok, maybe not that much, but seems like it My eating sucks lately
  14. Yes, it was many many years ago after I had my second daughter. The couple in front of me handed me a birthing class business card and asked if I'd be interested. WTH.. I just said, thanks. My daughter is 30 and it still hits a raw nerve.

    Enjoying the Sun and pool

Everyone is different on what they can do after surgery. I was fortunate and was nonstop from post-on. Did all the touristy stuff plus more. Spent an extra night just so we could have more fun. Then we added an extra day so we could play in San Diego. Had a blast. Did the protein powder drinks but you have to do it water only and nothing else. Did vitamins and meds the evening of surgery. No issues.
  16. By then you'll be on regular food.. Or I was,and you will do fine. You should be back to normal and be able to enjoy your day and honeymoon as a normal couple congrats on the big day(s)

I don't have to LIE anymore!

I've been driving for 40 years and not once have I changed it since I was 15. They ask me.. Is the weight the same? I just say, yes. There's no way my license could ever keep up with my yoyo'ing weight loss/gain

    New to the sleeve!

Welcome! My results so far are noted in my ticker below. I'm a reeeeeeally slow loser, but I am getting there Good luck!
  21. I too didn't research enough about the band and that's why I research the crap outta the sleeve. Being naive want going to kill me this time. As for reading my story just click my name and the profile and my story.. Lol.. I think
  22. Ms.AntiBand

    I have a date/ 2nd try

Oh my.. Don't get me started Also if you ever get a chance check out the band forum and go to complications. I'm flabbergasted on how people on there still get the band.
  23. I think the avg for everyone here is between 100 to 200 , but there are many above and below that. Like ebonisekim said its up to the person. The mind is what makes you successful. The sleeve definitely helps, but you have want to do the work and change your lifestyle to get there.
  24. I don't have any problems at all. None. That's not to say its a norm though. Read my profile story and you'll see I too had band difficulties, but I knew I was in trouble f I didn't do this surgery. A very few have surgery complications and some of us have minor problems but nothing compared to the band rate of complications. The band should be not be an option any longer. IMHO
