    Crazy question ?

Having the VSG means you rely on changing your lifestyle with food. The sleeve will not work if you eat like with the band. Your new lifestyle means you learn to eat healthy and live wise. It's a lot of work, but so rewarding in many ways.
  2. LOL.. I was thinking, omg, that's what I paid $30,000 to get rid of! Now, the TT.. I'm all for, but my major flaws are my hips. Too each his own
  3. Heh.. His name? And cost?

    VSG done laparoscopically?

Be sure to do a ton of research on this surgery. Meaning, physically and psychological effects. You can never be over informed.

    Breast lift!

I go where the best and most experienced surgeons are... And that means I trust my MX dr over many in the states. But I never say to anyone that I would not go to a specific place because of hear-say. That's a bit naive.
  6. Can you share your surgeons info please.. And yes, you look amazing!

    I don't hate my band, but ...

Yes I can relate. I too was successful with the lapband. I was successful at getting skinny.. AND NOTHING ELSE! My health was so bad I was starving to death. My eating habits was ice cream and shakes. I vomited black blood several times a day and at times vomited just from swallowing too much saliva, my esphogus was chronically inflamed, and I had mass bleeding ulcers.. But dammit.. I was skinny! I had weekly infusions and a permanent chest port (still have) because my veins are no longer accessible. I had monthly blood transfusions.. But you know what? I never hated my band. I was so frantic when the doc said they had to remove it they had to sedate me. But I was successful at getting skinny. I had a psychological attachment with my band. This time is different. My first goal is health and getting thinner is just a bonus
  8. That's mostly due to insurance requirements. They don't want to pay for anything so they make it unavailable to most patients. If your self pay almost any dr will do it even it the states
  9. I' m 5+ months out and can only eat about 3 oz Protein.. Sometimes just a few bites. I don't eat Pasta, breads and the such because I don't crave them plus I'm not at goal yet. I can eat lots of slider foods but I don't. If I feel I don't get enough protein in one meal I eat the same thing again a bit later. I welcome my restriction. If you do have a stricture, like Laura pointed out, its easily fixable

    Bizarre trend?

Of course I agree.. And can't even sum up the feelings I have in regards to this issue. I get too frustrated
  11. Can you maybe move it up a week or two? Everyone is so different that's it's hard to tell people what's doable. I was fine after my surgery and I've been through grad school and I know I could have done it .. But some patients have a really tough time with surgery and energy. Maybe, if you could give yourself at least an extra week to cover just in case you have a difficult time it would be safer. Better safe than sorry. If you don't need the extra week then it's extra time to prep for school. All's good
  12. Sheesh.. Gotta love you youngin's and looking good!
  13. Glad your feeling so well.. I knew you were in good hands. She's having full face lift and leaving so soon? I always thought staying a week was the norm? Keep us posted, please
  14. My Cordinator played tour guide with my daughter while I was incarcerated.. Err I mean required to remain in hospital. Then we all took off and enjoyed everything we could. Loved my Cordinator .. Best ever!

    LapBand - horrible outcome

A couple months is nothing! TRUST ME! You're dr is one smart doc. It's very important to wait for your self to heal completely or you're bound to have major sleeve complications if not. I had to wait 18 months for any dr to come near me with the sleeve procedure. I promise 2 months is not a long time to wait. Use the time to set your mind and attitude towards your new goal of being healthier and happier. The sleeve isn't like the band and you will have to change your lifestyle for it to work. Now is the time to start. Goods luck

$25000 Surgery Cost, what did you pay?

I know all about that. I've spent nearly $100,000 on complications from the lapband because my insurance doesn't cover complications from wls even if it's life threatening. People need to be prepared.

Anyone know if u can get vitamins in pills?

I started taking my vitamins and meds while I was still in hospital. No problem, just do it one at a time and slowly.
  19. Holy cow.. 123lbs in 7 months? Congrats! What's your secret?

    Gluten Free?

Fred Meyer and QFC has the waffle pancake mix and also has some good oatmeal packets called glutenfreeda or something like that. I think outside of the PNW it's Krogers

    What are your staples?

My staples are titanium (I think anyway) Bwahahaha .. Ok, sorry I had to do it because I have no wls pantry.
  22. It's ANTI band. I am against the band because of it high chronic complication rates. I firmly believe the band should no longer be available.
  23. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very attentive http://www.google.com/search?q=hotel+lucerna+tijuana&client=safari&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=9cubUe6JDYesjALAlYG4DQ&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAA&biw=1024&bih=644

    Post op diet. No restrictions

I worked my way into different foods. Always try things a little at a time so you know how you're stomach reacts. Some things are going to be different from pre-op.
