    Totally Blew It....

OMG.. Licking the frosting off cupcakes is soooo me! And it is weird how when you eat a no no food you tend to lose.. Maybe it's from guilt
  3. Yes, it's caused by issues with the IV. Because of my damaged veins I normally use a perm port that's located in my chest, but because they were able to get a Radial artery IV they went with that. Obviously.. It didn't work and it Infiltrated and in turn I got phlebitis. Doc gave a script for a anti inflamitory anagesic cream. Don't recall the name but the pain lasted a good three weeks. The swelling and pain went from the base of my fingers to my elbow
  4. I had it in my left arm. I took antibiotics and had topical anegesic cream for the pain. I was quite tender to the touch for a month, but it did go away.
  5. It takes me to Taylor Swift http://bravehearts.com/?v=1369870237
  6. Do I have to search through all the entries? Or is there a direct link?

    food funeral

I ate so much I made myself sick just thinking of food. Then I ended up hating food so much I started my pre-op early. LOL

    food funeral

Heh.. I gain 10 pounds with my food funeral. Yikes!
  10. Definitely .. Appeal! Over and over if you must. Insurance companies hate paying, and will do what they can to make you give up. Don't. Keep it up until they give you what you've been paying premiums for. Insurance companies suck and slacker drs are the worst. Have a talk with your dr and make sure he's aware of it. Some drs are in the dark about anything beyond their treatment rooms. My dr with a prior surgery messed up and when he found out he personally got it approved within a week. DONT GIVE UP!

    Et tu, Brute?

Ice cream does that to me, too! And I used to live on ice cream.

    Post op complications

Bypass is notorious for major complications and that's why none of us would go near that procedure. The pelvic floor reconstruction baffles me though so I'll have to ask my friend google for information on that

Who is pre-op and who is post op?

I think there are a lot more that don't have issues post -op than one who do. It's just that the ones having issues are seeking help or complaining. Us, who had no issues or anything to note don't have anything to post about. My surgery was awesome. I woke up without any pain and no anesthesia effects at all. It was as if I woke from a good night sleep. I got up and walked the day away and if I didn't have to stay the required 2nights I would have gone straight to the hotel. Once I was there, my daughter and I were off sightseeing and shopping. Nonstop vacationing for the next several days. If it wasn't for my glued/taped incisions and the fact i couldnt eat more than a few sips of broth.. I would questions if I had the surgery at all. So.. Most have an uneventful surgery or maybe a first couple weeks of minor pain. It's doable!

    How was your flight home?

My flight was uneventful, except for the seatbelt. I flew the same airlines as I did there and when I put my seatbelt on I had to suck in my stomach to buckle. I complained.. WTH? I gained weight? The flight attendant heard my conversation and smiled. He graciously leaned over and unwrapped the belt from around the arm rest. I was too relieved to be embarassed. But he and my daughter had a good laugh. Other than that my trip home was great. It gave me time to catch up on sleep since I was nonstop in MX and San Diego. Be sure to walk when you have a long flight or walk during lay overs.

    surgery today!

Good luck and sweet dreams! PS.. Remember to walk walk walk
  18. EGD is a piece of cake. Manometry is different and can be uncomfortable if not prepared.
  19. You could try different shakes until you find one you really like... But your taste may change after surgery so it's kind of a hit and miss. Get your vitamins and soups, but you should be fine to go shopping after for other things
  20. Obese is obese is obese.. Unless you're under a 30 BMI and then your not obese you're just fat (until you reach your goal)
  21. Most drs (but not all) will use a topical med in your nose to help with any possible pain and then it should not be a huge issue. Hope this helps a little. I've seen many of these done in ER and no one had any huge problems. Just relax as much as you can and follow directions. If it makes you feel any better.. You're lucky you're not getting an anorectal manometry! Now that never look like fun at all

    Help

WALK WALK and walk some more. It's the only thing that will rid your body of the gas. Plus.. It gets you moving and recovery is quicker if you don't sit around. That's something you can remember when you're out of surgery. Don't put off getting up and walking as soon as you wake up. It's the deal breaker
