anyone forget to feed others?
Ms.AntiBand replied to devonmae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ooooh.. We need to do a retreat weekend! Some place where I can dry my mossy PNW bones out and clip the webbing between my toes -
Barium swallow test?
Ms.AntiBand replied to ReadyNewM3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A barium swallow is a piece of cake. Not sure what procedure youre having or how much you'll have to drink, but when I have my liver scan I have to drink soooo much it's an issue, but the taste is fine. An endoscopy is also a piece of cake.. You're asleep so no biggy. The leak test is also a piece of cake.. Just a nasty tasting piece of cake -
I think a few things need to be considered in making a goal weight. . If you're fairly young 120 isn't a unrealistic goal. When you age things change.. No clue the logic behind that, but there's no way I could go back down to my early 20's weight. Maybe it's bone density, muscle mass etc. My goal weight on my ticker is below my actual goal. The red number on my ticker is a caution number I don't want to go below. A healthy weight for me is 130ish. So.. Everyone's goal depends on several things

Do we ever get used to eatting so little?
Ms.AntiBand replied to VickysVictory's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're doing better than me. When I cook I'm a taste tester so by the time I get to the table I'm full. My family loves the fact that I go busy myself with cleaning.. Which is their job -
Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
Ms.AntiBand replied to *Dean*'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
Yep.. Just let your ticker do the work I'm proud of you though.. I do the treadmill but only at 3.5. A couple weeks ago I accidentally pushed 5 and saw my life flash in front of me. My heart rate probably double just from that mistake. Thank God for the quick stop! -
All MX drs do a leak test during surgery and another 24 hrs later. This is a precaution they firmly believe in. The taste is nasty, but it only takes a few seconds and it's over. It's a icky tasty tasting precaution I'm thankful for.

Don't you just love the inequality?
Ms.AntiBand replied to quackstitch's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry that this post turned to be an insult to some. I have no clue what other's, regardless of their BMI, have to do or have to get the VSG procedure. My insurance policy doesn't cover it so I was self pay and booked 1 1/2 months out. I hope everyone who wants the sleeve can get it. Everyone has a story and reason...And no one should ever judge others. -
Congrats.. You've done an awesome job!

Congrats! You look awesome.. Keep up the good work!

I thought everyone who went through insurance had to do all the hoop loopin'? -
Driving would be more relaxing since you're in control of every thing you do. If you plan to drive make sure to stop the pain meds the first day so you're clear headed. And yes.. Stop every so often and walk, walk, walk.. It's good for everything

Ms.AntiBand replied to Imabeskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I envy all you runners. I couldn't run to save my own life! Good luck and have fun! -
You don't weigh enough for that....So sick of hearing this!
Ms.AntiBand replied to SuNMooNStaRS816's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep.. What a mixed up world. Hahaha.. I love that "but your not that big" .. As if that's not a rude hurtful thing to say. -
Ugh! Weight gain!
Ms.AntiBand replied to kmschneiderpac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Too bad the docs can't hand out prescriptions for patience Seriously, I promise it will work with a little patience and of course commitment. Try to go about your life as normal and dont focus so much on your weight loss (or a little gain). I use to say I was a slow loser, but I think I'm more of a normal loser and the few who lose rapidly are rare. I don't know if I ever gained any since my surgery because I don't weigh myself very often.. Maybe once a week to begin with and now every couple.. Three weeks. I know it's working and that's alI need to know. Hang in there -
There are a lot in the recipe section here. Just search the bar once your there. I can't wait to get to goal so I can try some.. yummy! My craving for ice cream is gone so that's probably why I'm able to hold off until goal. I don't even want it..I just know its good... Sheesh, what the mind can do is crazy!

opinions please...
Ms.AntiBand replied to newlife27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't forget if you do find a favorite shake you really like... After surgery you may hate it. Things change in a big way when it comes to taste so don't stock up and waste your money -
Does the sleeve cure your food addiction?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Kcarr1120's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep.. Exactly what magpie said. -

I think a lot of people think that if you're not 600lbs, like the extreme cases, you should be doing it on our own. Well, duh.. Don't they realize the 600 lbs people used to be that "not that big enough" person once, too -
I didn't even know I had a drain until I got up to walk. I slept on my sides and back.. Lol.. Obviously, the drain didn't bother me or I would have known it was there.

Drain site, no stitches?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Ah0505's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was open and just a light gauze over it. Look horrid, but healed to a teeny little scar
