    question females only plzz

Well if Laura isn't a spring chicken then that must mean I'm, we'll never mind. I got my lovely period before leaving hospital and I didn't have a problem changing the tampon. BUT.. Everyone is different. Trimming? Hell.. They're lucky I shaved my legs let alone any place else

    No appetite.

I'm what most consider a slow loser, but I think I'm more of the norm. I think I get into stalls a lot because my hunger is gone. When I do get hungry I end up saying..oh I guess I need to eat.
  3. I froze mine and then they were perfect by the time I was ready to drink them

    No appetite.

I'm almost 6 months and I'm the same way. Nothing sounds good to me and so I just eat by routine. Kind of the same thing all the time.. Sometimes on weekends it varies because I'm around other people and I eat bits of what they have. I guess it's not that things don't sound good.. It's like I just don't have interest in food any more and I'm rarely hungry.

    Laughing problem

It's my favorite thing in the whole wide world.. It's my natural every day high!

Laughter is the best medicine.. Right?

    My stitch is poking me

Oh.. Maybe I'll get a pic of a soft cute bunny and everyone will like me. Although, that wouldn't stop some from wanting to make rabbit stew out of me

    Diet after the sleeve

Dang it Laura, you're like a post head of me today! I can't be a smart ass if you beat me to it ;P

    Just curious...

    1. Research, research, research ...and more research! 2. The less anesthesia and pain meds you have the faster you recover. Narcotics mess with the mind and can lead to depression and make your body overwhelmed to not want to do anything. 3. The minute you wake up from surgery start walking and walking and never stop. The more you keep in motion the faster you recover. It can be hard, but not as hard as a long drawn out recovery time. That's three.. In this response

Laura.. I didn't recognize you in your unicorn outfit and rainbow! Turning over a new you? I hope not!

    A Simple Little Graphic

    So true!
  12. Call the hospital.. They'll tell you the noted reason why the dr is no longer practicing at a specific hospital. It's not a confidential issue.

Has anyone read "Stranger Here" by Jen Larsen?

I didn't read it, but just from what you posted it seems this happens with all wls. There are soooo many who are just wanting a quick fix and don't research thoroughly before hand. Clueless patients make bad patients

    sleeved may 6th..this is tough!

" I think what makes it hard is that after being sleeved you can't do anything but sit at home and keep track of your Fluid intake. That's boring and with boredom comes our wanting to eat. " I have to disagree with this. Why sit home? Get out and do things and walk anywhere and where ever. Live normal, but with out letting food consume you. Don't sit at home letting yourself dwell on your surgery or the fact you can't eat. Get yourself occupied. This is your new life.. Take control of it. It's yours to do what you want with it. It's whatever you make it. GO GET 'EM
  15. Congrats and welcome. Like me.. You'll be a lot happier with the sleeve. The band was actually approved in the states in the early 2000's. I got mine in the fall of 2000 and joined lapbandtalk then. Wish I would have read all the complication posts first though. Hind sight is great though Again.. Welcome to VST
  16. I got down to 104 with my band so I know my skin sags. I have the bat wings, sagging thighs and some loose tummy skin from 3 10 lbs babies, but I was ok and spanx became my new BFF. I can definitely live happy with saggy skin @ 55. Maybe that's why the good Lord arranged for older couples to need glasses.. Once in bed w/o glasses we don't look bad at all
  17. I've swallowed my pills from day one. Some can and some can't. I have a easier time with pills than having to drink meds in a bunch of water.
  18. I am almost 6 months out and 14 lbs from perfect goal and 19 lbs to my ... do not get to warning goal. I have a tendency to over do things and never be happy so I promised my family I would have a red number not to get to.

    Fad Diets

Ooooh gosh.. For me it would be easier to list a couple I haven't been on. I remember my first was Ayds diet candy (ok, I wrote that and made myself laugh. I mean, how ridiculous could I be?) I have to admit, misty's cookie diet sounds pretty good;) Sheesh.. What in Sam Hill were we thinking?
  20. My dr gives you a video of the whole process plus will take a picture of your removed stomach if you want. I guess some of us like the memories. Or we're just morbidly curious.
  21. Perfect! LOL.. I could see us all sitting down and ordering one dish or all of us..
  22. Early on it can be caused from the gas they used during surgery. Be sure you are walking ALOT and OFTEN. His is the only wAy to rid your body of the gas. If you're not stil early in post-op.. I don't know the reason for the pain
  23. There's no logical reason for any dr not to remove the right amt of stomach during surgery. I mean.. The dr has to preform all the exact steps as all the other drs so why would he take less than other drs? The surgery is all the same regardless .. so there's no reason for a dr not to remove the correct amount. Its not any less work or effort to take less of your stomach

    Lifestyle change

I'm ot sure what it was for me. I do know it's different this time. I can't fail.. If I don't make this work it means I'll be fat and miserable the rest of my life. I don't want that. Aside from my total mindset prior to getting the sleeve.. A few factual incentives: I'm self pay.. It's cost me a lot. I'm not going to waste my money on failure Health.. I'm no longer in pain from my knees hurting or waking up gasping for air from sleep apnea Others doubting my decision.. Some family members think it won't work. I refuse to let that happen Natural high... Since my surgery I've been on a euphoric high because I am completely into living a better life. I've never been so hell bent on bettering myself before. I love the way I feel. The sleeve won't be any more successful than the band unless you are willing to change your lifestyle for the better. Do tons of research prior to deciding. Many don't understand the true commitment before they jump into wls and then they regret it. RESEARCH.. And thoroughly know the ins and outs of it ALL Good luck
  25. LOL.. I think you have to be from the Pacific Northwest to get that.
