How long does this soreness last?
Ms.AntiBand replied to sparker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What band? I was sore as in it felt like I did extra sit-ups and it went away within a day or two. Hang in there -

Ms.AntiBand replied to Bufflehead's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You need to get up every 1/2 - 1 hours to walk anyway so a catheter would not work well plus why not pee while you're up anyway Op.. Great recovery, you're on your way! Yippee! -
I got sleepy. I wasn't tired and I had energy, but I got sleepy. It was weird and I actually nodded off while driving. It doesn't happen anymore and I can't explain the causes, but it went away within a month for me.

clothes that don't fit. .yet
Ms.AntiBand replied to alene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nice friend to have! I too have a closet full of small clothes from when I was banded. It wasn't too long ago so hopefully not too out of style. Either way it'll feel great! -

I will NEVER feel ok about kayaking. I'd be like those cheap bath toys that go upside down and I'd be conversing with the fishies -

So true. We are never happy and we need to get over it! We are beautiful at all our stages. I look back at photos when I was always dieting and think ...Sheeeeit, I was skinny! Not this time, as long as I'm doing it healthy and have a goal.. I'm gonna be fricken happy! Congrats to all you losers and your smaller-than-you-were sizes... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! -

Your body can live a looooooooong time without anything EXCEPT WATER! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate is you first and foremost concern. Worry only about your fluid intake at this point until your urine turns lighter. But don't wait too long. If you're having doubts contact your dr and insist you get IV fluids. -
Wondering if 9 months is enough time to heal between band and sleeve
Ms.AntiBand replied to alene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It took me 18 months to be cleared, but I was an extreme case. Your surgeon will do the necessary exams and tests to clear you. Rely on what your surgeon recommends. They know what's best for a good outcome with an easy recovery that won't invite complications because it was rushed. -
LOL.. I don't know, staying home alone sounds mighty tempting to me

Border towns in TX are different than TJ medical tourism border. I too, wouldn't go to the TX/MX border at this time. OP, perhaps your coworkers were attempting to dissuade you from going. -

San Diego isn't that close to the border crossing. You have To travel several miles to even see the border. Are you sure the co workers were accurate in what they were telling you? -
The Most Important thing to me in my journey is...
Ms.AntiBand replied to mysleevemylife's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
For the first time in my life I actually believe that I am capable of any goal I set for myself. I have put my body through countless WLS complications and death twice. This time, I have no clue when or how it happened, but my VSG decision was the trigger. I started pre decision very depressed, but by the time I made the decision to get sleeved I knew this was my turning point. Never have I given myself the option of failure. Who knows where the path will take me. I know for sure that my life is already changed and I can't contain the excitement I have for today and the future. It's a whole new world of opportunities that I never considered possible! It's amazing what a healthy, happy body and mind can do for ones life. Its absolutely beautiful! -
Hey Pretty face, I'm from the PNW North Lake Washington area. I went to MX and I'm here for ya! My daughter is going in the fall so maybe we can work together. Oh and welcome:D

Just remember.. The more you walk and keep moving the quicker you recover

I didn't have any swelling and I had an IV for 2 days. I think it depends on how much gas they pump you up with. Some have pain from it other don't. There's a gazillion different reasons for this and that when it comes to how one reacts to surgery

weight loss pills after surgery
Ms.AntiBand replied to ramirelek's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Of course diet pils work.. If you're into yoyo dieting and abusing your body n mind. Not my cup of tea anymore. Your body/mind will become dependant on the pils nd your body/mind will resort back to square one when you stop using them. Use the sleeve the way it's meant to used or it's not going to work. Wrap your mind around the fact that if you do ting right you will get to your goal. Learn to work the sleeve and Don't sabotage a good thing. -
Sounds like your body has gone into starvation mode and is trying to hang on to all that it can. If its your surgeons orders I guess that's ths way he wants it. Hang in there
