What's the Hardest Part?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Other than robbing my savings for self pay.. I have no other. Absolutely no hard part in regards to my VSG. I'm very fortunate. -
An infection can happen to anything anywhere anytime. Yes, I have heard others here report that their drainage tube/area became infected. You can also search drain tube or JP tube infection and get more info

Patience patience patience..it's the only way. Don't obsess to the point you get discouraged. If you get to obsessing then it's time to step back and relax a bit.

What do I do now?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Thenewmrssmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance doesn't cover WLS or ANYTHING related to it regardless of medical necessity. I clinically died twice and they did not cover my urgent care under medical necessity.. If its in any relationship to WLS they are not required to pay. If your insurance says they don't cover WLS then they don't. Sorry to post so may times, but I just keep seeing more of what you posted. -
What do I do now?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Thenewmrssmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, I just noticed you said they don't cover WLS. How this got past your drs office is strange. The admin should have thoroughly looked into your coverage when you came to them. Sorry you're not coverd and hope you can work a self pay surgery into your budget. You also said everything is done? You mean tests and evals and that sort? Who paid for these? If the insurance did then be prepared to have to pay back.. Hopefully, it will slip past the billing, but dang..watch out. Good luck -
What do I do now?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Thenewmrssmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does your insurance cover WLS? If it does then appeal and keep appealing. They want you to give up so they don't have to pay for it. They count on people not appealing. If it states in your policy that they don't cover WLS then they don't and there's no appealing that at all. That's a done deal -
Cost of surgery
Ms.AntiBand replied to Thenewmrssmith's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery

Kind of want to punch a kitten :(
Ms.AntiBand replied to takingbackcontrol's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmm.. I feel like I'm the only one who would absolutely love my family to leave me alone. I mean.. Really alone. Not just when I lock myself in the bathroom and pretend I'm actually using the toilet, or when I say I'm going to the grocery store and never leave the drive way because it's so peaceful all by myself. .. etc -
Unresponsive coordinator, anyone else having issues with that?
Ms.AntiBand replied to Jiggly Puff's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Send/leave MSG that you're considering a switch. See if that gets a response. You're not committed to anything.. Especially if you're not satisfied with everything. Almost all surgeons have openings that can accommodate the date your wanting. Good luck -
It can last for a week or more. The only way you can get rid of it faster is to walk it off. Walk walk walk

Ms.AntiBand replied to srboyd86's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Sandy! Not everyone loses at a fast pace.. Fact very few lose quickly. At first you do lose a lot and then it slows to a normal pace and you're more in control. Without work it doesn't happen so like I said you're the one controlling the outcome so I don't think you need to worry Welcome to the forum and us losers -

Ms.AntiBand replied to Emilysmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Worried about recovery!
Ms.AntiBand replied to Ms.Nya's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did a vacation with my surgery and was fine. I did the touristy stuff in MX for a few days and then in S Cali and then at a ski resort (didn't ski) and I felt as if I never had surgery BUT everyone is different. You won't know until then. -

Me & Ma - please offer suggestions
Ms.AntiBand replied to saira's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear about your mum, but soooooo glad she's in the hospital with proper care! Prayers and hugs your way -
Everyone will be different. It depends on age, amt of weight loss and your skin elasticity.

Weird burning pain 9 months out...
Ms.AntiBand replied to Angel Rae's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Until your next appt I would do a complete cleanse so that can be ruled out. If you're constipated you need to .. Well unplug yourself. To do so never hurt anything, plus it may answer questions. Being backed up into your intestines can mimic gallbladder issues so why not start with something easy -
HELP ME! Put on Reglan or another acid blocker for reflux since surgery? Did you gain or stop losing? *sigh*
Ms.AntiBand replied to BloomingFaith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, everything you mentioned is very normal. Hang in there -
Yes, if there isn't any food to vomit then bile will be what comes up. Usually its food first, then liquid (bile) and then dry heaves. Youre on liquids so chances are its bile which along with digestive enzymes is the color yellow

Baby Ashley arrived
Ms.AntiBand replied to GabbyEstrada's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Aww... Another baby in the forum house! So adorable.. Congrats -
They gas they put in you can go all over and cause pain in your torso. Also, being backed up due to surgery and pain meds can cause severe cramping pain in your intestines which is is largely located on the left side. Stitches tend to have a pulling feeling and should not cause severe sharp pain. Always contact our dr. Oh, and the only thing that will rid your body of the gas is walking.. A LOT! No movement means no release of gas from your body.

Which airport did you fly into?
Ms.AntiBand replied to sarii's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr Ponce $5500 flew into San Deigo. (Revision $6000) -
Ok. No matter how intelligent they are.. Men can be so stupid. Women too, but we're talking husband at the moment. Some husband have no clue how to communicate their feelings and sometimes it isn't always good. They are clueless. Chances are really good that he is overcome with a million thoughts and feelings of the "what ifs" I totally understand your obsession with your surgery.. I was that way too.. And it's partly excitement, nerves and finally getting to the part where your life is going to change for the better. Only thing I can suggest is include your husband in anything you talk about doing post surgery. Things will work out.

Should I ask Mexico Bariatric Centre for reinbusement for ....
Ms.AntiBand replied to westcoastlady's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't think the service is solely to blame. Dr Kelly stopped at a particular facility (reasons unknown.. Just hearsay) and because he went to another facility, it should be partially his responsibility to update with services. Just saying
