Jane where will you be having your plastics done? Is insurance helping at all? So excited for you.. And a teeny envious too
  8. I've had surgery in Acuna and surgery in Juarez and my last surgery was in TJ and we loved it so much in TJ we stayed and vacationed some.

Did surgery clear your sleep apnea?

I just started having sleep apnea a few months before surgery and because I'm a severely light sleeper it would wake me up... In complete panic, terrified and gasping for air. As soon as I lost weight it stopped... The one and only medical condition that convinced me to get VGS.
  10. I would just to get it off the market...and maybe recover some of the $100,000 in medical expenses. I can't even begin to tell my complete horror story

    Oh, do please shut up!

Route (Root) 66 is not how we normally pronounce route. When I was young I had a paper route and it rhymes with out. Ok.. So maybe I never had a paper route but I always wanted one

    Oh, do please shut up!

This forum is NOT Ameican specific. Hell... Us Americans have dialects that are different from region to region. Plus.. Maybe and I mean maybe in a big way, aside from spelling this forum is not school and therefore this forum welcomes all comments regardless of social and educational, etc, background. Sheesh!

    Is Age a factor ?

Oh.. And don't let age stop you from VSG. I'm 56 and because of VSG I'm going to be living a lot longer

    Is Age a factor ?

I find this really odd. Isn't Medicare a national program... Why are the benefits different depending on your location. Weird.
  17. Leslie.. LOL, laughing aside, chin up my dear... In a few short weeks you'll be joining us on the thinner side. Hang in there

    Dr. Ponce de Leon

No. I technically didn't have a revision because my band was removed to save my life. If you read my profile "my story" you'll see it wasn't a good situation. It took 18 month for my body to heal enough for the "ok" for vsg and I couldn't schedule with dr Rodriguez so I researched and found Dr Ponce. I'm happy I did.

    Coloring My Hair Post Surgery

I've colored my hair every 6 weeks since my surgery. Yes, I lost some hair, but the coloring had nothing to do within. I did biotin.. (And still do because my nails are awesome now), and vitamins and gobs of protein and my hair stil came out. It's going to happen and no one truly knows why or how to prevent it. Anyway.. Color to your hearts content.. I did and you can see on my before pic I have lots of hair... And I can say I still do

    First day/night in hospital?

There's no way to know whats in store for you post op. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT so there's no use in asking. You could breeze right through it like some of us and hop out of bed the minute you wake up. Or you could be like others and have a terrible time.. Or worse.. Complications. It's a hit and miss. So play it safe and keep the kids away. Your kids are very capable ... More than what you think, but you don't need the added stress if you happen to have a rough post op.

    Band to sleeve success question....

Yes. I lost weight with the band a few times, but as my profile "my story" shows the band is a dangerous medical joke and shoud be ..Banned! I was 104 with band. Within a year of being unbanded I gain 86 lbs. I'm sleeved and healthier than I've ever been. Close to a safe goal and my only regret is getting the band and not the sleeve 10 years ago. I AM. VERY. HAPPY.

Is there a stall at 6-7 months

You betcha... Stalls can happen to anyone anytime anywhere.. Regardless of everything. ;D

    Confused. Feel the same?

Most people have great surgeries. Mine was a breeze and I had no issues what so ever. Like P man said... Most people who post are the ones complaining, but there are just as many if not more who are like us and breeze right through it. Mine was extremely simple and I kind of feel bad about posting because of the unfortunate some who have a awful time.
