    Anyone Else Going Through This?

Hah! Look at my ticker.. I've gained 10lbs doing the food funeral thing UGH!

    8 Week Pic.

    Good job.. Very encouraging!
  3. FOOD FUNERAL! Love this metaphor.. Thanks!
  4. OMG...Sarah-lu1 ! I thought I was the only one experiencing this. My surgery is tentatively set for mid Dec. and I have been eating enough for the octomom. The only thing that has slowed me down is that I don't have any more clothes that fit me. My closet is full of the size 4 clothes I grew out of when my band was removed. I am quickly outgrowing my size 12 and I want to cry. (don't get me wrong people, I know some of you would give anything to be in size 12 and I shouldn't be complaining. Well, I am because I have been where you are and I am fighting hard not to go there again. I totally understand it all) Let me know any good ideas to help me stop this ridiculous behavior! Anyway.. With pre-op appetite actions my forum name should be Ms. Porkeroinker ... Ugh!

Why Do I Hate The Word "hubby" So Much?

There's a man room? And yeah, why are their females in there?
  6. Oops.. That's "why should he have to" .. Spell check messed it up
  7. Wait.. Why does behave to fess up? No one else is required to expose their methods of weight loss if they don't want to. How maNy may purge or take drugs to achieve their goal? Pfft.. When I read the topic it cracked me up. We all have our ways of losing and Arcusx is simply not eating as much... Which is the truth. Btw Arcusx .. Whatever you win you have to split it with me or I'll tattle ;D

    Diaherria Make It Stop!

If it continues, by all means contact your dr. Diarrhea is one of the easiest ways to become dehydrated.

Scared As Hell Of Excess Skin!

Jogging @ one week post- op? Seems to me that would be pushing the limits of your healing. You may feel great, but no clue what damage you may be doing to your surgery site. Scary thought... Be careful. They don't tell you to take it easy just to be wasting air. There's a reason! DiamondKized! I had the band and went down to 104lbs and had excess skin. Now that I'm back to being obese.. I'd give anything to have the excess skin again. I'm 55 and my BFF is spanx ;D ... you're young and may not even have a problem. Focus first on the weight loss and then begin the toning. Good luck

    Insurance Exclusions.

I know the feeling! For overv30 years we pay monthly over $500+ and employer pays a few hundred towards our coverage and our insurance won't cover ANYTHING related to WLS and that includes even measures to save my life. It sucks! I'm self pay.. I just wish I could use the insurance premiums that seem to be worthless

I Love My Kids More Than I Love To Eat

Welcome KR... And good luck on your journey to a healthier and happier life. My goal surgery is Dec, but it's not set in stone, yet, but I'm excited just the same. Thumbs up to you and your sister for making the choice
  15. Not sure if I'm posting in correct area, but I'm interested in hearing stories from people who have had their VSG for long period of time. Perhaps, 5 plus years? Because of my complications with the lapband that put me on my death bed twice and now going on near $100,000 of a hole in or savings, my husband is VERY reluctant to agree with my choice of being sleeved. FACT, I haven't even told him and I'm working on a December surgery date. I need all the ammo ..err I mean details and such for a postive and informed presentation for him I basically need to know everything .. The good and bad Anyone out there who had a spouse or significant other who you had to convince?

    7 Month Update W/photos

Good work.. Glad to see you look sooooo happy too!
  17. I went over there yesterday and was blown away with all the continued complications with the band. People just like our stories! Horror stories! These complications weren't posted when I got my band years ago.

WOW... So awesome and inspirational! Thanks for sharing
  22. This may be a great opportunity to discuss with your son the negativity of fast food and junk food. The last thing you want your son to go through is what you're having to deal with. If I could do it over I would never have allowed my family to touch half the food I brought into the house as they were growing up... Literally! Aside fom that.. I think this is a huge adjustment time and I wish you best and my prayers too
  23. Yep.. As you can see by my name, the band is not something I would ever recommend. I too went through what you did x's 2 on the death trip and years of blood transfusions and weekly infusions. I can't believe the ER didn't recommend the remova for youl, but instead gave you a shot for pain? Whenever I was transported to ER and they found out I had the band that was their focus. Luckily, I always had someone with me who knew I had the band because many times I was not conscious or coherent. Glad you shared your story ... It's important! Greatful you're better and prayers are with you for continued good health. I suppose we should be posting on the band forum? Wonder what kind of reception we'd receieve. ARRGGH... To the lapband
  24. More like some people have very short memories of how it was for them. Once they are no longer part of the lesser ( or morer, in our case) they think they are all so mighty. Sad Lil man.
