    Swelling

Hey Angie, I think it must be different from one to another because I was only a bit swollen for a couple days and never noticed any after that. I am also very bruised, but then I bruise very easily anyway. I feel awful about all you've gone through and I wish you a quick recovery from here out. {{ hugs}} Kristine from Seattle

    On My Marriage

I've been married for 35 years and have weighed 105 to 200. My husband says he's been married to every size in the book and I've been stuck with the same ol' guy forever

Yes, check your iron. When I was anemic and had to have weekly iron infusions I had white hands, face, gums, and also check inside your lower eyelid.

    4 MONTHS out - 53 pounds

    NICE! You're beginning to glow!
  6. 12/14 here. No regrets, considering, I would have gain another 10 lbs pre-op if I waited. the list of foods I DIDN'T EAT last year at this time is shorter than what I did, so... I'm happy it's done! I'm out running my million Christmas errands and it dawns on me how often I would be consuming food throughout the day. I have spare time! Thank the Lord I am not hungry at all and have to remind myself to sip and stop for my broth. Thank you thank you thank you... I am blessed
  7. That is so awesome and so encouraging for everyone.. Keep up your awesomeness!
  8. Had surgery around 1ish this afternoon and YIPPEE! Everything has gone perfectly! I don't even need pain meds.. Although, I will take one as soon as I'm done writing just so I can sleep in a steange bed. I'm getting very antsy and want to leave. Been up and walking so much the dr asked me to settle down.. Hehe! Don't get me wrong, I am sore, but it's like a good sore after a work out. Only iv Fluid for now and haven't eaten anything for 36 hrs and have no hunger pains or desire to eat. My daughter has brought in plenty food for herself and it didn't phase me in the least. YIPPEE AGAIN! Praying the easy time and sucess with having sleeve surgery continues.

    Ouch it hurts!

I wish you felt better.. It sucks when it's painful! When I had the bands I was the same way and got depressed because my daughters were up and being tourist while I was having so much pain. Not sure what makes the differents between surgeries, but there is. My coordinator and I pray a lot and that there is a humongous comfort to me. I'm so blessed"

    Got 'er done!

I feel so fortunate to have such an easy time. When I had the lapband twice the gas pains were almost unbearable and lasted through the flight home. Now, no pain or hunger just some small amt of soreness at incision sites. Been running around TJ with my remarkable coordinator, Trish! Today, after shopping, I'm going to treat myself to a Lil' Botox and mani & pedi and sip my protein next to the pool side. I have found that I must be bloated because my bra needs to be two hooks from normal and I'm not comfy in my jeans. I recommend bringing low cut jeans or yoga pants so not to interfere with belly button incision. I'm so happy.. I wish the best to everyone

Hello I Can Hear You, I'm Right Here!

Heh.. You think that's bad, have you ever looked at an illustration of the surgery procedure being performed? Too funny!
  12. No, spinal block is not a normal procedure in vsg, but like someone mention the dr isn't using it anymore?
  13. YES. Exactly what suepeeps said. I only had a 3 day pre-op diet but I got to where I no longer wanted food and starting the pre-op early was so easy and I felt great going in. But yep... I pigged out and did the food funeral and gained weight so watch yourself
  14. I'll be honest (although,I'm a lot more scared this time than with my two band surgeries). Umm, well, I also was very pessimistic about not being able to eat like a pig if I did the surgery. It was a mind game for sure. Get past that and you'll eventually realize the surgery may be safer for you than living obese The actual surgery is scary no matter what though.. It's just not an easy thing to be calm about.

OMG I am tired of eating.

Holy crap thecurvyj... I said the exact thing this morning getting into my car to go work. Was thinking about what to get for lunch and said... I'm sooooo flipping tired of eating! Nothing even sounds good and I'm not even hungry. My pre-op starts Tuesday, but I may start early

I can't imagine any of us MX sleevers haven't put it in perspective all on our own.

    Hubs thinks he's psychic

He's probably scared. Guys have strange ways of dealing with things and then even worse at communicating them. But rest assured.. If yor surgery is flawless and while heading home you stub your toe... No doubt the big guy will claim " I told you so! "

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There

Omg... Starting reading and realize my date is in 1 week! Now I know what y'all are talking about when you mention nervous, excited, panic, second thoughts etc.. YIKES!

Seriously people... ? I would much prefer to read more important things than this. Opinions stated and be done with it. We all had a say and this is not a place of confrontation .. We are here for support. If you have a problem with those of us going to MX so be it... I am fairly sure if we could have surgery in the states we would, but for a variety of reasons we are going out... So be it, also. No, not all of us believe it's the best choice, but it is a choice and we are taking it. I've experienced 4 MX surgeries and can feel confident in my choice. It's not convenient, but I'm ok with that at this point in my life. Just because some of you are able to stay in the states for your surgery doesn't make you any differnt than the rest. Please reframe from making us feel as if we are second rate and don't value our life as important as yours

    Shorties...

Asherje.. I too, had serious issues with the band. Was banded twice and had to be revived twice before I realized the band was just not a good thing. I've gained so much weight since unbanded, but my vsg is Dec 14. I'm short, about 5'3" and ready to lose!
