Ms.AntiBand replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My daughter wore shorts and flip flops, I wore jeans and sweatshirt because I freeze no matter where I am. -

Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
Ms.AntiBand replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr prescribed Voltaren Gel for my inflammation. It's topical and works right where it's needed and no need to digest -
There are no benefits to consuming carbonation or all the crap in soft drinks. When i was in my thirties I stopped my daily six pack of diet Pepsi habit because I did enough research to see the effects it has not only on my eating, but on my skin. It robs so much from the body it just isn't worth it. PLUS.. Like someone else said, if there's even a teeny slight chance it may result in deterring your new healthy lifestyle, WHY?

LOL... Trust us when we say you don't want to really know about most things during surgery. If I hadn't already delivered babies and shed my modesty I would have been mortified when I found out about WLS procedures in the OR. Best we can do is use humor to cover any humility we may have and laugh laugh laugh

HURT BY COWORKERS
Ms.AntiBand replied to JuliannaJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be honest. This would hurt me a lot too. I have no good answers, but just to shove it in their race why not send a beautiful flowering plant/soup care pkg to yourself/office and sign it "from all of us". Have it arrive on your first day back. This won't solve the issue, but at least you can pamper yourself. -
All of my December sleevers...
Ms.AntiBand replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have my calories set @ 900, but rarely get over 600 in and my carb level is 23 and record shows I have never exceeded it. Oh well! -
Gastric Plication Surgery
Ms.AntiBand replied to ItsMorningLove's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm too lazy to google it, but if I remember right, (but don't quote me on this), the pilcation, I think, is when the stomach is folded/rolled into itself and therefore the stomach is then is full of excess stomach and can't hold a large amt of food? LOL..I'm picturing drs rolling their eyes in disgust at my explanation -
Gmanbat and wife, B&A pics
Ms.AntiBand replied to gmanbat's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Holy cow?!?! What a difference... Soooo beautiful! Congrats and SOOOOOO... Inspirational for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing -
Have either one of you looked into a less expensive surgeon? Not sure what the cost is of the dr of your choice, but just a thought
-
A drs note should be included in your discharge packet. If not just ask and there shouldn't be a problem. MX surgeons are very competent, professional and experienced at what they do.

All of my December sleevers...
Ms.AntiBand replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am going on a four week stall.. Getting tired of it, but I figure this is a lifetime change so I figure I can be patient. Plus I'm not hungry so all is good -
Would U Do It With Bmi Of 38?
Ms.AntiBand replied to NurseMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BMI of 33 and I did it so I would never see a higher BMI. Just losing 20 lbs made a world of difference on my joints that I didn't even know I had an issue. I also sleep peacefully and never knew I had a problem until it wasn't there. ABSOLUTELY do it! -
Low iron. Check your gums and inner eyelids. If they are not pink you need to been seen.

Anyone had surgery and was alone afterwards.
Ms.AntiBand replied to MsBriteEyez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Someone post surgery should ALWAYS have contact with someone able to check in with you a few times a day once you are released from hospital. Even if it's via phone only.. Anything could happen that warrants urgent assistance -
My sleeve doesn't like.....
Ms.AntiBand replied to TheCurvyJones's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exactly! Before, I could swallow a horse without a problem and now I get a pill in my mouth smaller than a pea and I gag and choke!?!? WTH? -
Just received a verbal beating...
Ms.AntiBand replied to HoosierGirl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
A lot of people react negatively because thy wish they were doing it too. Sometimes it's just moms job to worry about you.. Maybe she could go with you? That said.. Confrontation is a big reason I didn't tell anyone except my husband and kids. I don't want drama involved in my personal issues or decisions. -
Did he do more tests than a barium swallow? My band caused a multitude of issues for me and a barium swallow would not have seen the additional problems that the band caused ...which lead to pain. If your band is not working for you and you're not at a healthy weight.. GET RID OF IT! Don't wait for more serious problems....especially if you have insurance. Check my profile story and do what you can to avoid what I failed to do. And yes, I panicked when they told me my band was removed in order to save my life. . They had to sedate me. But I lived and with the sleeve I am so much more healthier and happier! Good luck

Most likely its a coating of bacteria and dead cells on your tongue. It also could be a sign of dehydration so keep that in mind, too.

Here's my unusual story as to why I'm here
Ms.AntiBand replied to Suprisedtobesleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wish I could have had the revision the same day and I wouldn't have gained 75lbs waiting to heal and be sleeved. You're lucky! I was too sick to have it the same day.. Or even same year. I am now sleeved and couldn't be happier Good luck! -
Feelings on Eating Fast Food (McDonald's) 7 weeks Post Op
Ms.AntiBand replied to ljmasterdebater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally, I sometimes find veering off the subject just as enlightening as the original post. Someone always learns something valuable from whatever is said... Be it on or off subject. The OP question was well covered and plus we learned that some of the other edibles are consumed, but ARE NOT a norm to live by. Pretty simple and quite elementary and nothing negative needed to be said. *rolls eyes* why do I feel like I'm back teaching jr high? -
What did the first week after hospital discharge look like for you?
Ms.AntiBand replied to roxannez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was back to normal life as soon as the day after my surgery. This may be normal for some and not others, but I feel wonderful. I took 3 1/2 weeks off and got totally bored and restless. I went shopping and sightseeing in MX on day three and never stopped moving after that. I'm 6 weeks out and lost and stalled and I'm now slowly losing and perfectly happy with my progress. I AM A HAPPY PERSON!
