I would go into my horror stories, but most people here are probably sooo tired of me telling it. If you want to hear it all you have to do is search the posts I've made and I'm sure I've covered it many times. To give you a hint.. I had the band for a few years, died /revived after complications. Rebanded a few months later. A year or two after-same thing, monthly blood transfusions and weekly iron infusions, continuous ER visits, low blood pressure, unconsciousness, death ... Obviously revived and banned from the band for life. As of Dec. 14, 2012, I am happily healthily sleeved by Dr Jaime Ponce De Leon in TJ MX.
My weight loss is going slow, but I am ok with that because I have a lot to learn when it come to eating healthy. Ironically, one of my degrees is in Nutrition, but sadly, I was overtaken with stupidity and vanity while banded and refused to ignore the facts of complications. I did a vast amount of damage to my body and it will take time to truly get healthy again... Both physically and psychologically. Unfortunately, my insurance refuses to pay for anything related to WLS... Including saving my life. My out of pocket expenses are near $100 grand
On a side note.. In hindsight, I should have guessed the band was not a good choice considering, for each band surgery, both coordinators were band to sleeve revision patients. Go figure!

Now, my stand against the lap band is sincere and if you thoroughly research things you will discover that the band has a HUGH complication rate compared to the sleeve. Yes, both can have complications, but nothing compares to the band complications.
Anyway.. With the said, I TRULY APOLOGIZE if this story comes up in the public forum. I don't know if it's just for my profile of it pops up elsewhere. Sorry for the repetition if it does. Good luck!
