Anyone using a Fitbit?
DayByDay replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
www.fitbit.com or amazon.com I bought my fitbit from fitbit. They have several new models now, unfortunately not all are named fitbit so it can be confusing. I have fitbit, but there is the Zip and the One. A wonderful tool. -
I'm not sure if you can eat these yet but these look pretty good and have some great stats: 8.2 calories, 0.5 carbs, 1.25 Protein per bite http://joandsue.blogspot.ca/2012/05/cauliflower-pizza-bites.html

14 Months Post Op with Pics. 215 Pounds lost. Life's Good

Amazing. Keep up the good work! -
Amazing how Vitamin deficiency can wreck havoc on your emotions. I had a combination of Vitamin D Deficiency and Hypothyroidism. Get your Vitamin D and Thyroid checked. I got sloppy with both and started to feel weepy. I got back on track and the symptoms were gone within a few days. Also check with your doctor on your B12. I have known a few people who found out that for some reason they can't absorb B12 anymore and have to get a shot once a month. Just a suggestion. Take care.

Hard time justifying surgery....
DayByDay replied to Oakleygirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can I relate? Absolutely.... Once I knew this surgery was a reality and spent a lot of time in my head making sure that this is what I wanted to do. And the reality of "choosing" to remove part of my healthy stomach because I could not get my act together. I had to accept that fact in order to move beyond it. I've spent so much of my life punishing myself. Honestly I'm done. I need to do this for me and I only need to justify this surgery to me. It's not cold feet. You are asking yourself a tough question. My doctor told me, this surgery is voluntary, no one is making you do this. This is your choice. I carry around a quote from Bill Cosby that keeps me in check, "You have to want it more than you are afraid of it." I know I want this and I openly accept the good and bad with this decision. Not sure if this is helpful to you. I wish you peace with what ever decision you make. That will be the right decision for you. -

How exciting. I'm February 25th. May both of you have a speedy recovery. -
It gets easier. I was on Optifast for about 9 months. For me it was around day 3 or 4 that my hunger was gone.

starting my preop diet early
DayByDay replied to ready2haveanormalwaistline's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I look at it this way, every pound lost before surgery is one less pound to loose after surgery. You can do this. -
Here is a great site that may help you out: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html

PB2 is this really wonderful product, it is Peanut Butter that has been pressed. They have removed most of the fat and sugar. Here is a link with some more information: http://www6.netrition.com/bell_plantation_pb2.html -

Anyone using a Fitbit?
DayByDay replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also a huge fan of the fitbit. It is worth $99. I like their new model, the One. Uses bluetooth to sync. I have the old style where I have to dock the fitbit to sync. It also syncs with My Fitness Pal and other applications. -
I can so relate to this statement. I have always had this problem and still struggle with it. I've ben putting myself last for so long that it has become a habit. I think this surgery is a great first step. I'm self pay and almost cancelled a few times because of the guilt of spending this kind of money on myself. But I know I am the only person who can put myself first.
