Catheters?
buffythefatslayer replied to coolmamma73's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really don't want one but I know it is protocol because yes your bladder does go to sleep. I have always been told me urethra is backwards. Every time I have a catheter, soon after I get a UTI, so I don't think its a coincidence. -
How does the surgeon know if he/she are removing enough of the stomach during surgery? I keep hearing of people who are able to eat solids two weeks after surgery.

My levels are in the high range and hopefully with a change in medication, I can get into the normal range. -
Success With Hypothyroidism?
buffythefatslayer replied to buffythefatslayer's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is my next question for my surgeon. I was just curious if there is anyone who has been successful without a thyroid prior to me approaching my surgeon. -

Confession: I Look For Success Photos To Reinforce My Decision
buffythefatslayer posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Can't Change Others But I Can Change Me...
buffythefatslayer posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a boyfriend who is about 200lbs overweight. I continually make decent choices and try to buy healthy for the household but I am convinced he is addicted to trans fatty fats. He only wants fried, sugary and fatty foods. I told him I am having surgery and he says I didn't approve that. He says he is kidding but now I wonder if he wants me to continue to be overweight because he is afraid once I lose weight, I will leave. I love him but because he doesn't even want to try, I fear he might be right. I know you can't change people but at least respect my changes. -

Butterthebean, He is 9 years younger than me and thinks he is invincible. When he went to the doctor and his blood pressure was 187/110, he got scared for maybe 2 minutes and didn't take one blood pressure Med. I actually feel sorry for him. -

Nenukes33, It is crazy to me how different everyone's body shapes are. I am 5'10, size 20, but I am 289. The doctor says he would like to see me at around 175. I would love to wear heels all day! -

I would think a renewed outlook for a healthy lifestyle would outweigh vanity. I have two boys and I would love to be able to keep up with them. They are my world and when I get sick from obesity related things, they worry. I feel sorry for them because they shouldn't have to be so concerned for me. -
The complication stories do scare me but I have been given so much inspiration that I think of the complications as like 1 in 1,000,000 and that helps me.

Nsv From My 12 Yr Old Daughter

Kids are honest. My son called me a brown cow. He started crying after he said it and I know he was sorry but you are right, words are sharp. He was only saying what others think.
