The sleeve and hair loss.
cmaloney replied to sncontreras's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I had my surgery 9/17 & the hair in the last month is coming out like crazy. Also taking Biotin. I have tons of hair, so I'll just wait it out..it should slow up in the next month or two. -
Hair loss ... Any hair products help ?
cmaloney replied to ShrinkingInSeattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Holly...this could be me writing your post! Started 4 months, losing quite a bit. My only saving grace is I have tons of hair to begin with, so now I'm saving money on getting my hair thinned out, which I do twice a year... I should've started the Biotin pre-op like a lot of others did. Oh well, live & learn. -
Frustrated and at a loss.

Very sorry for everything you're going through. You will be in my thoughts & prayers & I hope this issue gets resolved quickly. Please keep us updated... -
With all the hair I've lost so far, I could seriously make a wig. Thank God I have a ton of hair & since I didn't start loosing it until the beginning of my 5th month, I feel it's going to hang around for a bit! My heart goes out to all the people with very thin hair!!

Hair today, Gone tomorrow...
cmaloney replied to cmaloney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope mine slows down soon. I've never missed a day of my supplements either. I really should've started the biotin earlier... Oh well, this too will pass.... -
I'm 5 months out & one day I can eat something & the next day forget it, can't tolerate it. I've totally given up on eggs because they come up more than they stay down. So, I just try to avoid certain foods & stick with what works for me. I'm also still trying to get the hang of eating very slowly. That's really a problem for me. Good luck! It will all work itself out....

Welcome & best of luck to you.....it's really an amazing gift we've been given as long as we treat it right! -
I'm loving my collarbones! And, all the other bones I never knew I had!!!! That's all...
-
Awesome!!!
-
I know!!! Any I was sleeping & something was bothering me & I said - wow! A hip bone is digging into me. I had to adjust my position! Loving this.....lol
-
That's awesome & that doesn't seem like a slow weight loss to me! You're doing great...
-
Omg!! When I was pre- op I only had to do a 2 day liquid diet. Day 1 I felt great. Day 2, the worst headache in the world!! It lasted until the next day of surgery. It's very normal! Your body is wondering where all that food is that it's used to. This too shall pass. Welcome & the best of luck to you. 5 months post op, feel great & 83 pounds lost.

About 5342 steps to 1 protein drink
cmaloney replied to ISleevedIt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol! Very good... That's an excellent way of doing that. I'm 5 months out & I think I'll give that a try also since I drink my shake in the AM also. I'll look like a nut walking around my office though, but who cares!! -
Starting to freak a bit. I'm 5 months out & am doing absolutely nothing different. What used to be a steady constant weight loss - 79 pounds so far, now in the last 2 days I've gained 2 pounds!! It's making me crazy. I've never missed my supplements, haven't had a taste of bread at all, am active & get in my protein shakes & water. I don't want to be that person that is constantly on the scale, but I was so used to seeing the numbers going down, this is making me panic. I just finished my period a few days ago so I'm hoping that's it. I really am very chill people - this isn't like me at all to have such a frantic reaction! UGH!!
-
Thanks for talking me off the ledge... I do feel better. This site rocks! I'm usually very rational... Lol
-
Thank you so much. I wouldn't mind so much if the scale didn't move, but it's moving in the wrong direction!!! Did that ever happen to you?

I promise you that you will start to feel better! I'm 5 months post op & like others, I wish I did this earlier...all I did on day 2 was vomit all day! That passed very quickly & I was back to work in 2 weeks. It really will get better. Welcome! -

Also thinking of you & hoping you start to feel better soon. Although I didn't experience what you are going through, I have heard it does get better & know that we are all here to help you get through this tough period.... -
Please don't get upset!! It happens. I bet tomorrow or the next day it will be a loss. It happens to alot of people... You could be retaining a little water...

Has anyone have moments where they just gag!
cmaloney replied to blkdiamond377's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
5 months out. Can't tolerate eggs at all. Water tastes very tinny to me (I loved water!!) have to add crystal light to it. There are days I really don't want to eat anything but I force myself because I have to & then there are times - right before my monthly - that I could pick all day....strange.. -
Same here. I take it once every few days along with 2 fiber pills at night. This is the only negative for me. Everything else is great!!
-
That's great news! We sometimes forget that our loved one are just as nervous as we are...may she continue to improve more & more each day..

How to balance the million appointments while working?
cmaloney replied to beba238's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What I said was I have to have stomach surgery for some issues that have been bothering me & I will be required to have a lot of pre-op testing before my surgery date. I always made all of my appointments in the AM, so I went right to work after that...
