Please be honest...
WorkItOutWoman replied to patsybrown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At work I have my premiere protein shake (30 gm protein) mixed with equal parts black coffee. it helps me get the protein shake down which I find disgustly sweet without the coffee. -
Sugar free banana syrup and cottage cheese. If you don't have the syrup I believe ou can use extract. Or carbmaster yogurt has a banana cream pie flavor along with strawberry banana flavor

March Sleevers - what does your diet consust of
WorkItOutWoman replied to Jazzy1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Edit 3 week postop visit not 3 month. Any who my visit was today incisions look good. Blood pressure was 110/70. I have been off meds since 3 days after surgery. Down 22 lbs! I went to the grocery store after visit with nutritionist and spent $100 my eyes are definitely bigger than stomach. For dinner I had a slice of deli ham that was .6 oz with a wedge of laughing cow queso cheese spread on it which I rolled up. It was very yummy. -
March Sleevers - what does your diet consust of
WorkItOutWoman replied to Jazzy1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sleeved 3/18/13 and allowed eggs yogurt refried beans cottage cheese and sf pudding. My diet was advanced to this at my one week postop checkup. The only thing I have eaten is cottage cheese and refried beans no more than 2 oz at a time. The thought of plain eggs makes me ill which is why I have not eaten them and I can barely stomach the sicky sweet protein drinks which is why I won't eat sf pudding either. I am so exited for my 3 month postop visit because I will be given more foods to eat. -
Food question

We can have anything we want as long as we are willing to deal with the consequences. -
am I being naive? ?
WorkItOutWoman replied to PhoenixTheDiva's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think for a lot of people it's a fear of judgement. A reason for me is that I don't want to hear the story about the neighbors cousin twice removed who had the surgery and three days later they died. There are the stories of how someone's sisters mothers cousin lost 800 lbs and then regained 900. Also there is the famous "it's just a question of willpower" stories. It's tiresome and I can avoid them by not telling everyone my private business. -
I'm ashamed but I have been judging people. I went to a seminar not knowing anything about VSG and was just there for information about lap band. I came away with a lot of information about VSG although the surgeon really seemed to be pushing bypass as the gold standard. I found this board the day after my initial surgical consult and was here almost daily getting information about the sleeve during my six month preop phase. I can see from the boards and the kinds of questions that come up many people do zero independent research on surgery before having it. I go insane when people say I ate 6 oz of this or that at 2-3 weeks out. Just because you can does not mean you should. Whew now I feel better and can go back to my silent disapproval

Idk how to lie?!?
WorkItOutWoman replied to VivaDiva01's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You don't have to lie. You tell your manager you are taking time off. You can tell them you are having surgery they don't have to know what kind. I spent a lot of time worrying about what my co workers when I returned after two weeks. I just told them I needed time to handle some personal business and that was that on that. I did tell my Manager I was having surgery but was not specific and he knows he is not allowed to ask. I also told him I had not told the rest of the team my reason for being out and he said no problem. -

WorkItOutWoman replied to Sadlers1999's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey M2G I just checked out your profile I didn't see any stats but your before and after photo looks fantastic! I'm not sure which support groupnyounare referring to is it the one with the psychologist McMahon? -
I didn't lose a pound did the six month supervised. Also because of lack of insurance previously didn't have 24 month history of bmi 40. I used a weigh in from weight watchers and I was approved in 24 hours with high mark.

4 Days Post-op and I can eat a little too easily ?
WorkItOutWoman replied to LOWCALGAL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only true way to not over eat is to measure and journal everything you put in your mouth. I am only two weeks out but everything I eat gets measured. Eating until I was satisfied it was got me to 270 lbs. -

Any Colorado sleevers?
WorkItOutWoman replied to Sadlers1999's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think a lot of people do t really know what protein shakes taste like. Even though I was overweight I would still work out and mix up a protein smoothie maybe that is why it's easier for me to tolerate? My plan is to get the majority of my protein from real food when I can start to eat. -
Any Colorado sleevers?
WorkItOutWoman replied to Sadlers1999's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't buy any isopure because there weren't a lot of good reviews but I tried it in the hospital and tolerated it well. Kind Nurse Nancy sent me home with two bottles. Today I made calls around to local GNCs and was surprised the first two I called didn't have any the downtown store told me they were just bought out by a local hospital. The third store I called on Leetsdale and Quebec had 8 bottles of the apple Mellon. I only wanted to buy six but as luck would have it they were buy three get one free. Score! -
Sleeved on the 18th.
WorkItOutWoman replied to doepopper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sleeved on 18th as well. No horrible pain and no gas pain so far so good. I am trying my first 11 oz vanilla protein shake from Costco. I am giving myself 1:15 minutes to finish and I don't think I am going to make it! -

I am home now. No endoscopy just the swallow test with X-ray. Throat a little sore from anesthesia intubation. My surgery was at Rose with Dr. Snyder. I am only having water isopure and broth. So far so good. -

Help! Less than 3 weeks away & STILL undecided!
WorkItOutWoman replied to Lee 316's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Similar story I thought I would have to fight to be approved but guess what submitted to insurance the next day I got a call from the coordinator telling me I was approved and scheduled surgery for 3/18/13. GULP approved and scheduled in two weeks! I had to do a six month supervised diet but the time flew by. I know that I want this. My fear isn't that I will die in surgery my fear is that this will be another failed attempt -
Happy first day of the rest of your life and Good Luck to you.

Thanks for that I am very concerned about knowing when I will be full. I am trying not to but too much before surgery but based on your advice I am going to purchase a scale.
