What's going on with belighter???
ladiebird replied to hagerteresa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i just think she is a nut nut and has done her " business" no favours whatsoever, id like to see one person using her company after reading her self righteous duplicated post on here. For someone that has posted in many places here i notice she hasnt offered anyone, asking for it, advice or help of any kind. I think that shows what a "caring " person she really is love tracey -
Hi there is also another site that the two scotish ladies use which you might find helpful www.wlsinfo.org.uk they may know the surgeon your sister used being from the same area. hope she gets it sorted soon

omg thats the 4th time ive seen her post now. Whats her problem with people that find themselves out of work or have fallen on hard times? too self righteous for my liking she doesnt seem a good advertisment for wanting to use her company. i think delarla has hit the nail on the head. A chorus of voices singing negatives will carry a lot further than a solo one singing its praises will.

hey darla get the sign up as soon as you can!! My Band sabateur was my former partner. i use the word former as i have now ended the relationship. My ex is 6ft 6" and a slim 15 stones and can eat what he wants. he met me when i was biggish and since i was banded he has continually placed the wrong foods in my path. Big bars of chocolate constantly placed in the fridge along side fresh cream trifles and whipped cream. ( all the foods i love) I asked him not to do it but he ignored me and it has gone on long enough. The last straw was when i spoke to a friend and she told me that he doesnt want me to succeed with my weight loss as once i am slim other men will find me attractive and he cant cope with that.( he told her this inconfidence but he obviously overlooked the fact that she was my friend long before i met him) Well pardon me mr skinny ex boyfriend but i have had plenty of attention from other men since i have been in a relationship with you so im obviously not that revolting...!!!! And guess what peeps.... in the week since i asked him to move out i have lost 3lbs!!!. im sure other bandsters on here will agree with me that the band does not protect us from over indulging in choclate and cakes etc. I know there are probably a few people on here that are thinking My God she ended her relationship over a bar of chocolate. Well i put myself through surgery in a foreign country at the cost of nearly 4000 pounds and the pain i had was awful.. So if my partner could not support me fully to lose the weight then the surgery would have been for nothing. I know i should have shown greater control over my eating but i couldnt which is why i had surgery.. Its strange how he gave me cuddles and suppport when i cried in frustration about my weight prior to surgery and then set out to sabatage my weight loss once i had gone through with it..And this is a man that claimed to love me..well i think he might have been a fat admirer bordering on feeder as i gained 50lbs in weight when i was with him and in hindsight he only ever seemed happy when i was sat next to him on the sofa stuffing my face with food stuffs he had been to the shop to buy. Has anyone else had this problem with a partner or am i the only one.? love tracey

Hi Bright i got a SAGB and it holds 10cc... I have 4.2cc in it at the moment but although i felt restriction initially it has disappeared now and i am going back to LYON to have another fill on 23 Feb. 4.2 was my initial fill 4 weeks after surgery so this will be my second fill, so hopefully it will give me a bit of a helping hand as far as losing weight goes. I have managed to lose 14lbs so far which to me is great as b4 i had the band put in i was gaining weight everytime i jumped on the scales... Im in the uk but go back to my surgeon in lyon for my fills as i have a flipped port so all my fills have to be under flouro. I like the flouro as i like to see my band is ok and there is no guess work involved as to how tight i am or am not... love tracey

Taking A Poll, How Much Was Your 1st Fill?
ladiebird replied to FutureSlimMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have a swedish band and it holds 10cc. my first fill was 4.2cc and restriction is good. love tracey -
i soooo agree with the corn and carbs thing..for the last few days i have been doing atkins and on day three i no longer crave sweet things and i find my band seems to tolerate meat ok but carbs are a real no no with it... I must admit im not too convinced by the fat intake but im going to see what the scales say on monday and reserve judgement intil then. I know atkins can be quite expensive with all the meat you have to buy so thank goodness my boyfriend is a butcher!! love tracey

13 and banded.... well all i can say is she and her parents must have been so scared tht she was going to have the same weight problems as her mum... was she very overweight? Mind you if i could have been banded at 13 which is when my weight problems started i might not have lived such a miserable life for the last 20 years yo yo dieting all the time... i know they say prevention is better than cure but still not sure if id want my kids banded at such a young age.. but hey... each to their own i supose love tracey

Hey Pat Well i thought i didnt have restriction from my last fill, it felt like it had just disappeared over night...anyway yesterday i get home from the gym ( I have finally joined) and was starving so i made myself some chicken and salad and was merrily munching away then after about the 5 mouthful WHAM!!! i felt this huge pain in my chest... like mega indigestion... felt very sick... and 30secs later the offending article came up.... so down went the food into the bin and my whole outlook on the restriction i have changed... cos if im not mistaken that was a PB... love tracey

Band Rejection - Answer to Port Problems
ladiebird replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey lisa your wound looks like mine did at 4 weeks post op...the nurse that took out my stitches was a butcher and managed to pull the wound open a bit..( That was at 2 weeks post op)..The wound then got a lot worse and really got me worried for a while as it kept weeping and closing and then opening again...then all of a sudden i woke up one morning 3 days b4 my fill and the wound was clear of moisture and even the scab had gone...That was five weeks post op, so i am keeping my fingers crossed for ya that it heals in the end like mine did love tracey -
well i must be one of the lucky ones as the only mark i have from my fill is a pin prick... had loads of palpating done to move my port but not one bruise.... love tracey
-
hi jax i had my first fill this week and it was 4.2 cc in a 10cc band... mine only cost 84 euro with flouro so france is defo cheaper than germany... hope it all goes well love tracey
-
i laughed so much at the last kitty pic... looks like she could have done with being banded!!! lol
-
Hiya pat I think you should definately ask for a fill with flouro rather than risk another disapointing fill experience even if its just to put your mind at rest. i think you have done really well with your weight loss compared to me ( i know we are all different) As for pain i think the only thiing i had smeared on my tummy was antiseptic cleaning fluid about 30 secs before he got the needle in. To be honest it didnt hurt at all so i must be one of the lucky ones. Just as well as i am a right fairy when it comes to pain...lol... love tracey

hiya blossom my surgeon says that as long as i can have fills that there is no need for a revision. This is because mine has only gone sideways and not done a complete flip. I think that because it just needs to be massaged back to the right place for the fill it shouldnt be a problem. he did say that another doctor might not want to fill me as it would not be a straightforward procedure but im fine with that as i had planned to have all my fills done by him anyway.. He also said that i would find it near impossible to have it filled with out it being with flouro because of how it was positioned. On a lighter note he also said that as i lose weight it may even flip back so i will keep you posted. I got to keep the xray pics they took from the flouro and its kinda neat to be able to see my band and port and have a look at them from time to time to remind myself what a brilliant tool i have inside me love tracey

hiya blacknamaste i got my fill in Lyon france so if thats somewhere you are considering just say and i will pm you with the surgeons details. i am not sure if he takes patients from other doctors but i think he may well do love tracey
-
Hi All well i can empathise here cos my port has flipped sideways too... it took them 30 mins of massaging and prodding and pushing my tummy to get it to flip back so they could get a needle into it.. luckily all my fills were scheduled to be done with the radiographer wth barium as my doctor wont "guess fill" and so with one holding my tummy in a certain position the fill was quite easy in the end.. It was my first fill so it was a bit scarey as i was also in france so the language barrier was difficult too..( But im know the word F*** must be universal as the nurse laughed when i said it ) i said it when i saw the port image on the screen as i knew sraight away it wasnt in the right direction. Fran what position is your port in is it completely flipped 180 degrees? mine has done a 90 degree flip. i saw my surgeon after the fill and he said it wasnt a problem as he will be able to do any more fills i need which is fine by me as thats what i had intended anyway...plus the real upside of going to get them done in france rather than the uk was the cost.. 84 euro and thats with radiography. i think it worked out about 90 english pounds including my air fare for the entire cost of my fill... The restiction i feel at the moment is really good too so i hope it lasts.. love tracey

i have a SAGB and the port is nearly all tianium and when i left France after surgery it set off the alarm as i went through the airport scanner...they just scanned me by hand and checked the area in case i was hiding something and let me through... i am going for a fill in france tomorrow so i will let you know if it happens again....and yes i was embarrassed!!!! Love tracey

hey shrinking violet dont feel down...19 lbs is great...i am 5 weeks banded and have only lost 9 lbs but i dont feel disheartened as prior to the band i was putting weight on every week at a steady rate. I hit a real milestone this xmas, as last xmas i put on a stone (14lbs) in 9 days over the xmas hols!!!!....this year i didnt put on an ounce and boy did that feel great. I have my first fill on jan 12th so hopefully i will get restriction then as i have none at the moment and am just trying to stay away from naughty stuff as much as i can.... so hang in there and im sure in a few months time you will look back at this period in your weight loss journey and wonder why you were so worried and a bit disheartened.... love tracey

I had a good nsv tody ..its been less than a month since being banded and for the first time in 3 years i managed to paint my toenails without huffing and heaving all the way through.. As my feet are the only part of me that hasnt got a extra layer on them they are the only part of my body that i dont mind other people seeing...lol...
