I'm a 12/28 sleever...down 18 pounds since surgery!!! Been down in my back so no exercise yet... What's everyone else doing so far for exercise?

Sleeved in the 28th....hate to sound stupid but hadn't thought about it before...if I can eat say 2 ounces of food....is that weighed or is that by volume like say measuring it in a measuring cup?

Hello fellow sleevers....I was a dec 28 girl too!! No nausea at all. I am in my mushy wet protein stage per my groups plan...as tolerated of course. My worst prob is that during surgery with positioning or something pulled a back muscle or done something to my back...that has Been my biggest problem...horrible pain and hard to do anything with front and back pain ...but it is getting better....had the whole constipation problem too...they should just start u on mirilax the week before surgery...is hard to get fluid and protein down just because of the volume! Anyway, go sleevers!!!!!!!!

My understanding is that the wait is to help keep u from getting nauseated and help promote weight loss but by no means should it hurt u if u move it up as tolerated some. Really if our sleeve us that fragile something is wrong or something wasn't done right in the OR....just sayin my opinion .

2 days clears, up to 1 week full liquids then on to mushy wet protein as tolerated

Sleeved yesterday, 12/28. Laying here in my room. I woke up in the most horrible pain ever.....one side of my back hurting .... Still hurting more than incisions, and yes I have had surgeries before...2 c sections... I guess maybe I was not positioned well???

Freaking scared to death.....but I need this ....go in in 30 mins...please say a little prayer and I will for everyone else...

I'm Dec 28 and right with you on that. NO one in my family supports me.....you know i'm just too lazy to lose weight...LOL...like hearing that makes it easier!!

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this..... I have been on a low carb diet for 3 weeks now and lost only about 3 pounds. I am truly sticking to it.....no cheating at all, less than 30 carbs a day, i have put down my diet pop. I have done Atkins in the past and never lost but 4 or 5 pounds on it. Others I know will lose 15 pounds in 3 weeks.....any thoughts on what i'm doing wrong. I go back to Dr. on NOV 7 and i don't want them to think that I have not been following directions.....

hi, no, i can't imagine that they would make this standard of care pre-op. it is an invasive procedure in itself. Only if a pt had a blood clot would this be placed is my understanding.

hi, Got my EGD done today and everything was normal but there was an area of localized congestive gastropathy...DR did bx's but i'm stressing....anyone had this? is this a contraindication of surgery? HELP if you know.....

Finally found out that I go in Thursday for my first official meeting with nutritionist, exercise physiologist and internist!!! Sooo excited ...this means my journey is beginning!!! EGD is Wednesday (getting it done early...lol). It seems like it's taken forever to get this far....I'm pushing to have my surgery at end of OCT or beginning of NOV if possible....would work best for work and family.....WOO HOO!!

hi, Hate to say this but if you've got an active bug going....it is not the time for surgery. Definately let your doctor (who is probably not going to care) and your anesthetist know (who will care). Depending on your health status and how sick you are they will decide if you should procede or may leave it up to you if you are not too bad. I'm a nurse anesthetist and this is generally what we see or do. I don't recommend to my patients being put under general anesthesia if they have a active bug....but just see how you do sunday and monday am. Good luck and hopefully its nothing.
