    Diet Post Op

Thank you so much. I guess I should try some of these things before the surgery so I'm not at a loss afterwards!
  6. It does seem we share all the same feelings. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one feeling these things. Thanks everyone!

    Diet Post Op

I haven't had the surgery yet but am already worried about my hair. It's finally growing back after losing a bunch after a new medication. The chocolate truffle shake is the powder, correct? I've never had soy milk, but I am clearly lactose intolerant and have been for years. Is soy milk also a powder?

    Advanced Directive?

Yep - advance directive is a must! I agree with everyone else - also in healthcare.
  10. I, too, am a nurse, and could have used a binder for my 3 c-sections but never got one. I splinted using my hands and know it helps. I will not be leaving the hospital without my binder!

    Two Days Away! October 4Th!

I won't have a pre-op diet either. I'm not nervous about that piece - just very grateful as it's so difficult to stay on liquids when you're used to overeating. I'm thinking that post-surgery, it will be easier...

    $$$$$

I'm thinking how much less space smaller clothes take up when you're packing for a vacation...
  17. Glad to hear you saw someone. When you are there tomorrow, I would ask the surgeon how you can contact them during off hours if needed.
  18. Rough road for you, but congratulations on your perseverance and accomplishment!!
  19. The binder is a great idea - where did you get it? Do they give you one in the hospital?
  20. i got my surgery date today - December 19th. It's all becoming real - however, I was more nervous going to the appointment than coming out with a date! We're scheduled real close together!! I wish you the best!

    Root Beer Float

Sounds great - just curious - what is the benefit of unjury protein... I keep seeing it out there.
  22. I totally agree with isajck! The doctors have on call coverage for exactly this reason. You have been through a lot - put your mind at ease. They might have you come in tomorrow instead of Wednesday.

    Pain Bad

If your doctor isn't giving you what you need, go the ER - if it is dehydration, they will re-hydrate you. They can also assess why you are experiencing so much pain.

    Frustrated!

Wow - scary series of posts here - especially sazzygirl - are you doing better now? That sounds horrible. mgsmith72 - please call your doctor tomorrow - it's not about bothering... it's about ensuring your health.
