    dizzy and lightheaded

To the 2 week post-op - make sure you're taking in enough calories! I experienced the same thing and collapsed twice due to too few calories. To the 6 week post-op - are you on blood pressure medication? I agree with the response above that it could be low B/P - check with your doctor.

    Yipee over the century Mark

    Congratulations!!! Truly amazing!

    80lbs gone in 6 1/2 mths.

That is absolutely wonderful and amazing!! So happy for you!!
  4. If you search "stall" on this site, you will probably see that almost everyone stalls at the 3-4 mark. Some for 1 week, some more - I was 3 weeks... and handled it the same as you. My body had been through an assault - even with no complications - liquids, surgery, soft foods... I switched to 1/week weighing as well. Since the stall I have lost consistently from 1-2 pounds a week. I am totally good with this! The stall will end and you will continue your journey to health!

Look what I did today (pics)

    Congratulations!!!
  6. Unless you're running a fever, I don't think it will interfere with your surgery.
  7. I lost about 24 pound in the first month. Since then, 1-2 pounds a week. I am totally happy with that. However, I'm equally happy with the changes in my clothes. I have had a few mornings this week where I have tried on 5 outfits - things that were fitting me last week looked huge on me this week. I am taking joy in every little (and big) indication of weight loss. I'm also hoping that if I lose slower, my hair loss might not be as dramatic!

    ID bracelets

I was given a restaurant card as well, but I don't eat anywhere that has kids meals. I've been ordering what I'm in the mood for, eat my teeny tiny portion and then bring the rest home for the next day, the kids, my hubby...

    Puree Soups

What about a pureed lentil soup? That was one of my first soups after coming off clears (at 2 weeks). It was delicious and easy to get down.
  10. Junior Guru, I would be hurt too, because it's just downright mean. Just know it's okay to feel the hurt, and then realize your joy and success does not depend on these people. You were feeling good before they spoke because you have lost 30 pounds in about 6 weeks!!! Be thrilled - not just because of what you've lost, but because you are going to continue to lose! This family may never affirm you. There's some unhappiness in that family and it's seeping out onto you. Be encouraged - everyone here is rooting for you!
  11. 82 pounds!!! Woohoo!!! Your smile in the picture says it all! Congratulations!
  12. When in doubt, call your surgeon. It is only you surgeon who can give you peace of mind in these situations.
  13. I was told the internal incision should be fully healed at 6 weeks.

    Soft foods.. But cant eat

Thick soups - lentil, Applebee's chili...
  15. Cotton mouth, yes. I was sleeved on 12/19. I always carry Water with me - all day, everywhere I go. I can go from feeling well-hydrated to feeling completely dehydrated in about a minute. The other stuff - not so much - always been a bit of a butter-fingers and my hair... always had a mind of it's own and now it's begun to fall out.
  16. I know that I cannot handle sweets. So I haven't had any sweets since before the surgery 3+ years ago. The first weeks were hard, but I was on clear fluids and so worried about eating anything that might hurt my internal incision line that it was easy to quash the cravings. Now, I don't crave them at all - I see them but they don't even tempt me. My feeling is it's better to keep it that way for me. I also agree with those above - protein first, water throughout the day!
  17. Mine is so noisy others can hear it. Gurgling and squeaking - it sounds like the noises a lava lamp should make. Surgery was 3 1/2 months ago.

    hair loss

Wednesday is 4 months out and my hair loss started today. I'm bummed - I had finally grown back what had fallen out as a result of meds. Oh well, I'm just hoping I don't end up bald - I've got a very lumpy skull!
  19. If Fawn (who posted earlier) is correct, and HIPAA applies to HR as well, then you can file a complaint through HHS.gov, but filing a complaint with HR is probably the best first step. Asserting that this is a HIPAA violation might be important to say. Perhaps Fawn has better advice - I am not too familiar with the inner workings of HR. I wish you the best!
  20. MK - I agree with the posts above - file a complaint with HR. I'm not sure sharing that you're having a procedure rises to the level of sharing protected health information, but it is inappropriate, unprofessional and a betrayal of your trust. So sorry that happened!!!

    Venting-breakdown today

You are doing great! Those first weeks, with the clears and fatigue are very tough. You have lost a lot of water, but then had IV fluids, then no fluids, then only fluids - your body is completely confused! You may have a stall when you switch from liquids to solids, but the things kind of adjust. I have way more changes in my clothing than the scale would indicate. Yesterday I tried on 5 outfits looking for something that fit. I had been so looking forward to wearing a particular skirt, felt like I was finally there, put it on and it almost fell off - at least 4 inches to big in the waist. Both sad and ecstatic at the same time. You are going to put your tight jeans on very soon and find that you need a new smaller pair of tight jeans! So wonderful!!
  22. Before my surgery I took all my pills in one handful - about 7 at a time. After the surgery I was very nervous and took only 1 at a time - no problems whatsoever. Now I take 2 at a time. Again - no problems. I was also prescribed percocet after the surgery - tablets. I didn't need them, but my surgeon didn't prescribe liquid pain killers. Every surgeon is different, but I truly had no issues with the pills.
  23. The only ugly I have had so far (11 weeks out) is gurgling (from the stomach up - but not burps - just gurgles) after drinking. It is LOUD and uncontrollable and embarrassing in groups. Small price to pay for getting healthy.

    How is this possible?

Wow - that's absolutely scary. I am so afraid of stretching! I really make a conscious effort to stop as soon as I feel the little twinge that says I just ate the last bite that will fit. So far so good.
