  1. I got on scale first thing this morning and it said 240.5. I brushed my teeth thinking "really?? How awesome I've gotten down to 240". So I get back on to make sure I wasn't crazy and it said 242.2. What the heck? I don't know which number is true.

    Drinking?

I am going out of town for the weekend when I am 5 weeks and 2 days post op. I plan on having one glass of white wine with dinner in Saturday night, but no more (if I even drink a glass).
  3. I had a semi formal banquet I had to attend. I'm only 2 and a half weeks post op. The options were beef, chicken or mahi mahi with potatoes and veggies. I was good and only ate a little bit if the potatoes. But they brought out dessert and it was creme brûlée cheesecake!!! I told myself since its very soft (I'm on puréed foods) I could let myself have a few bites and not eat the crust. It was like I couldn't stop myself. I ate about 3/4 of it without the crust. It made me so nauseous but I never got sick. That's definitely the worst thing so far. I know I will mess up again and again so I didn't beat myself up.

    Pureed Food

My surgeon gave me an entire binder of information and post up diet stuff. There's examples of food for all stages except the puréed food. It only says "applesauce texture". Could someone please give me some exames?

    French Onion Soup

Thanks y'all! I did have the soup, and it was delicious. I get to move to pureed food tomorrow!
  6. I am on clear liquids until Monday when I start my full liquids. Do you think it would be okay if I had Outback's French onion soup without the bread and cheese and avoided the onions and only ate the broth? I'm dying for a different taste, but I don't want to screw up either.
  7. I'm very ready to chew. I ate about 2 oz of applesauce earlier, but I would love some taco meat, refried beans and some cheese. I can now have the beans, thankfully.
  8. On Thursday, I passed out and was transported via ambulance to the hospital. I was told I was a little dehydrated. So they gave me a liter if fluids, did labs and I was sent home. My surgeon said that my body is going through ketosis, which is why I'm still fatigued and nauseous. He said to up my carbs. This might be a dumb question but I'm only on full liquids. I get puréed food on Wednesday. How am I supposed to up my carbs? Oh and I think I've hit my first stall about a little more than a week out.

    Ketosis & Carbs

I am eating some applesauce now. It is not sugar free because I want to see if the sugar and carbs will make me feel better. I'm taking tiny bites and I'm eating it slowly. So far so good! My stomach is gurgling but it doesn't hurt. My stomach does the same when I eat yogurt. I hope this makes me feel better. I have only been getting between 10-20 grams of carbs a day. I think I might try to up it a little and just play with it to see how it makes me feel

    Ketosis & Carbs

Do you think it would be okay to start applesauce now? My surgeon considers it a puréed food, so technically I'm not allowed to have it until Wednesday.

    Ketosis & Carbs

Juice gives me extreme heartburn and acid even though I am in Nexium. I take it every day.
  12. I passed out yesterday and had to be transported via ambulance to the hospital. I did not fully come to until the paramedics got there. I saw my surgeon today and he said everything looks fine with my sleeve. I am still weak and tired. Everything I eat makes me nauseous. I do not like feeling good. I'm very afraid if I don't go back to work soon I will have to quit. I feel horrible
  13. I have a question for the ones who are on full liquids. What are you having for breakfast? My protein shakes are so sweet! They are becoming disgusting to me. Any ideas?

    Any Tennessee Sleevers Out There?

I'm from Cleveland which is right outside of Chattanooga! I was sleeved on October 3. Congrats to everybody!
  15. I'm sitting here eating yogurt and my stomach is gurgling like crazy! I mean it's like each swallow and a huge gurgle and rumble and then sometimes a burp. It's very odd. I had to laugh cause its like my stomach is either rejoicing or rebelling. lol
  16. RN, I was given medicine to make me loopy before being taken into the OR. I barely remember getting on the table. I wouldn't worry about it. They were just probably trying to help you relax. This might be a TMI question so my apologies beforehand. I'm now on my full liquids. I have a protein shake for breakfast and snack. Every time I drink one, I have to go to the bathroom. What in the world could be causing diaherria (I know that's not spelled right lol)? I am almost to the point of giving up on them. The shakes did not do that to me before surgery.
  17. Is anyone having a pulling sensation in the left part of your stomach? Mine is almost directly to the left of my belly button. It's quite annoying! I'm hoping I haven't pulled an internal stitch or something. I'm not sick or anything, just that stupid annoyance.
  18. At 2 weeks I will be on puréed food, and at 3 weeks I can move to soft food. I do realize each doctor is different. And if I get to those next stages and my new stomach cannot take it, I will go back to full liquids..with my head hanging in disappointment.
  19. Make that sleeve quadruplets. I was told to expect a 10-12 pound weight gain after surgery. I'm very thankful that that didn't happen to me. I'm down 8 pounds so far, but I have a feeling that starting tomorrow it will slow down because I'm starting my full liquids.
  20. I was sleeved October 3rd too! The only time food has seemed appealing to me is today. My hubby asked if he could grab a hamburger from Wendy's and I of course said that's fine. I'm taking in fluids just fine! I'm so ready for tomorrow when I can have creamy soups, yogurt, pudding and protein shakes.
  21. I'm down 19 pounds since starting my pre-op diet! I was sleeved on October 3. Each day gets easier. I'm now able to sleep in both sides and he comfortable. I get to start pudding, yogurt and shakes tomorrow. And let me tell you...I'm so ready! I'm sick of jello and broth. Water is tasting nasty to me, but from what I've read that's normal. I've been drinking Powerade zero. I can't wait to say that I've lost 25 pounds. Hopefully it will be here before I know it!

Thanks y'all! Maybe I will make my hubby take me on a date tonight. lol

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Day 2 was my worst day. But today (day 3) I'm feeling so much better. Fluids are going down much easier. I'm down almost 20 pounds from my highest weight on 9/18/12. My husband told a friend of ours that he could tell I was losing before my surgery. The best position for me was propped up on my bed. I even slept slightly propped up. I'm ready for Monday when I can start yogurt and sugar free pudding!
  24. I'm not sleeping too well. It's not cause I hurt though. Every time my husband turns, I wake up. Every time I want to turn, I wake up. Lol But I'm 3 days post up and I think I'm feeling much better. I'm hoping I do better on getting my fluid in today.
  25. I laid on my right side last night. It hurt to lay on my left, but I just tried it again and it was a success!
