  1. Thanks for the link...looks interesting, I am always open for some new shake ideas! Good luck to you!
  2. I know my pouch has stretched a little, but I'm sure it wasn't caused by a few "hard" meals. My dr said it looks normal so I'm not worried. I do try to do the 5 day pouch test diet every now and then to help keep it that way!:blushing:
  3. Same here...I just want to be in the normal range...I am trying to get my diet back on track so I can finally lose these last 20 or so lbs. I've been away from home alot lately and hence been eating out, very difficult for me to eat right that way. :blushing: Hopefully, now that I'll be home for a while I can do it!
  4. Sounds scarey! I hope they find out the problem...very odd! Hang in there, and let us know how it turns out for you! My prayers are with you!

    No slippage yeah

I'm glad you got good news about your band not slipping, and hope they figure out what is causing the eating problem.

    Breath test??? im confused

I was unaware they had a breath test for it, but H Pylori is the bacteria that causes ulcers. So I can understand them wanting to test you for it before being banded. Hope everything comes out ok! Good luck!
  7. I know I am just a "bit" older than you...lol...but I just wanted to congratulate you on your decision to have the lapband. I wish you alot of luck and hope everything goes well for you! I hope you find some peeps on here to relate with! :rolleyes2:

    Oh these bat wings!!!

I had my arms done a yr ago (also a TT and Boob lift and lower facelift) My scars have faded some but are quite large, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I didn't go through ins. I knew they wouldn't cover any of it! Feel free to check out my plastic surgery photo album for some before and afters! Good luck with whatever you dicide to do! Joanie :rolleyes2:)

What is your favorite non carbonated beverage?

I'm lucky, I wasn't a soda drinker before my banding. I mostly drink the crystal light drinks...Love the peach, but recently started dring some of the other flavors out there. :rolleyes2:

    In Pain!

:rolleyes2: Hang in there newbies...this too shall pass !!! I had the same pain and if I hadn't been warned about it ahead of time I would have thought I was having a heart attack! I still get that left shoulder pain every once in a while, but not that painful, just uncomfortable! Good luck!!!
  12. Protien shakes like EAS or Muscle Milk are good choices...read labels and taste different brands to find one for you! Good luck !!!

    On my Way

Well worth everything you are going through to get there!

    Fills and Pills

Nope, I wouldn't even try....last time I took a pill like that, I was stuck for a few days...had to drink lemon juice to try to melt it. If it's not a tablet I can cut, I don't take it. Good luck!
  15. I think I would drink alittle coffee with the splenda or something in it...are you sure your dr didn't mean just no sugar? Maybe you can try a half a no-doze pill (it's just caffiene)...see if that helps with the headaches at least...Good Luck! later, Joanie :cursing:)

use to be on here as "2flyguys"

:cursing: I hope you can find the middle...so sorry for all that's happened to you, but it sounds like you are on the right track now! Good luck!
  17. :cursing: Did you drink caffiene before, and are you drinking anything with caffiene now? Could cause headaches if you cut it out cold turkey! When my sister had her band done she had trouble feeling sick just drinking the shakes, she thinks it was because she wasn't that into sweet stuff, especially in the mornings..., I didn't have any problems like that, but when she was able to start with the soft foods she felt better. Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon.

    Hello/Newbie here

Congrats and good luck...I know you will be glad you did it!

    Cocktails Anyone?

Anything NON-carbonated is ok...of course any of the sweet drinks like Pina Coladas, will pack on the empty calories...but it's only 1 night right? :cursing: Congrats and enjoy yourself...you deserve it!
  20. Hi, I was just wondering where you are from, since I had never heard the term tertiary school...is that college? Just being nosey! lol

    need advice

My surgeon did not require any pre-op diet, except the usual...no food after midnight the night before. I was on liquids afterward for 2 weeks, then soft foods for 1 wk...and I did great...you will too! Have no fear...you'll do fine! Good luck, Joanie :smile2:)
  22. How was your surgery, are you happy with the results, so far? I'm sure you will be...Good Luck on your recovery...post some pics if you get the chance! Later, Joanie :smile2:)
  23. My Aunt had a breast reduction covered under her ins. recently, but none of mine was covered at all!

    Sick of this

Please don't give up on the band...it is a lifestyle change that will not happen over night, and everyone is different, so don't try to compare yourself to others when it comes to how fast you lose weight. It is not always easy, but, as with alot of things, it will be worth it. Hang in there, relax and let your body heal from the surgery. Give it a chance to help you. Let us know how you are doing, and you can vent on here as often as you like...we are here for each other. good luck! Joanie :smile2:)
  25. Sounds to me like you are ready for that 1st fill...it should help alot...but defineatly try to eat better...be concious of everything you put in your mouth. There are probably foods you may be able to eat now, that you won't after your fill. Also, do not beat yourself up over a few bad choices, it is self defeating, as you are probably already aware of. Good luck and let us know how things are going for you! Later, Joanie :smile2:)
