Ok,
I finally have surgery scheduled for January 11, 2013!!! I am so excited. It seems like it has been a long time coming, but I do see why they don't jump into things fast. I have learned alot about myself during this time, and I am totally ready for this life changing event. Way back in March, I wasn't quite sure if I could do the whole lifestyle change, but now I am committed. I have lost 20lbs. so far, but feel so much better than when I started this process. I know from previous experience, that I don't always stick to things once I feel better, so I need this tool to continue my weight loss journey and be healthy for life.
I am just about 6 months post surgery, and do not regret this at all. I had lost 37 pounds by myself before Surgery on January 11, 2013 and as of today June 28, 2013, have lost an additional 60 pounds making it 97 pounds total. I feel really good, and try to exercise and live life to the fullest, because for so long I didn't or couldn't.
I had no complications from surgery, always knew when I was getting full, pressure in the chest, burbing, etc. I never got sick. The pounds are definately coming off slower now, but I work really hard at making the right decisions in food choices and take my vitamens ( I never had a problem swallowing them, although they told me some people do). I don't really do the protien shakes anymore, they get really old, just stick to real food. As far as food choices, I really can tolerate just about anything. Pasta was hard for me at first, but after about month 4, I can do this also. It doesn't have much protien, so I make sure my other two meals have big protien, then if I feed spagetti to my family for supper, I have a small plate and maybe eat a piece of cheese, beef stick, apple with peanut butter, later for a snack to make sure I get my protien in.
