  1. I am a year out and as the time goes on I get hungry more often. I am feeling more like I did prior to surgery. I envy those people who are never hungry...wish that could have been me. I am sure some of it is head hunger, and that is the hardest to control! They are the times I crave carbs! I had thought about seeing a counseler to find out why I have an addiction to food, and maybe then I would have a better understanding and make it easier when those craving start. The surgeon fixed my stomach for eating, but unfortunately he did not fix my mind....and that is the main reason I got to where I was in the beginning. Does anyone have any helpful hints or have the same problem as me? I know will power and me controlling the situation is the answer, but I did this surgery to have help, since I am not as disciplined as I should be. I just want the hunger to go away!!!!!!! TIA~Linda

    Struggling With Hunger

Thanks LaBelle...nice to know the therapy helps and I definitely will check into it and make an appt.
  3. I don't know why people think this is the easy way out...it's not! It is the last resort for those of us who have struggled with every diet on the market. I had my VSG a year ago and I have never regretted it I have learned how to eat out at restaurants, although in the beginning it was very difficult. I mention this because, that is my main entertainment with friends and family. We all know that food is a major part to most people's entertainment! I have learned how painful it can be if you over eat...and now I don't. But I have to admit, on the whole this was a very easy venture for me....not all people are as lucky. Maybe your husband needs to read some of those topics. My biggest problem now....I still get hungry more often than I should.....So nothing is 100% and we still have to work on watching what we eat forever, if we wish to remain at the weight the sleeve has allowed us to get to. Good luck with your surgery, if you decide on it, and remember it is not the easy way out, nor are you copping out!
  4. I lam a year out and have never lost any hair. I was religious about making sure I got my protein in and I still take biotin! Fast weight loss without the protein will definitely make you lose hair, not sure if the biotin helped or not...but I didn't take any chances! lol
  5. My surgeon told me that the sleeve can be stretched...but the bypass is easier to stretch. Best to just follow the rules!
  6. Hi all...I am new her but I had my 1st year anniversary yesterday. The onlything I heard about drinking out of a straw was the air in stomach factor. I don't know much about it because I have never used one.
