Sugarbear, Dr. H said that now that they have located the opening of the port that he would know where to enter next time. Did not seem like it would turn back. He told me that the band was a 975 which was the smallest band. I don't know how to do a ticker plus I mainly do this at work and we are real restricted what we can do. I would love to come to Bryces tomorrow but I have to work. The only person that I really know that has had the surgery is my friend in Dallas and hers was 3 yrs ago. She has had lots of encouraging things to say to me. As for the fill Wadley said it was $244 but they did not make me pay anything. I guess fill on insurance and then I will have to pay. I was thankful for that. I am pleased to say that I have lost 30 lbs so far and have 45 more to go.

It is always so helpful to hear the stories of others who have had this surgery. I went for my first fill on the 12th and it was an expirence. I enjoyed talking with the other ladies in the waiting room about their expirence and how well they have done. I was not able to get my fill that day because my port had turned and Dr H said that sometimes happens as you lose weight. I wound up having it done under x-ray at Wadley. Does anybody know it this happens offen. I just hope I don't have to do that again but I am enjoying that results so far. I have dropped 30 lbs and 2 pants sizes. I don't think I have gotten into this size since before my 12 yr old was born. And my husband is pleased with how well I am doing. I am also pleased to read how well everybody else is doing. I will be excited to meet ya'll at the next meeting.

I sit here and read this thread everyday. I hardly post anything because I don't want to sound stupid. I was going to go to the meeting last night but my son was supposed to have a district baseball game that got rained out. The reason for today's post is that I go for my first fill on thursday and I am wondering how painful it is? This is all so different to me and if has taken alot of getting used to. I have also found certain foods that I can not eat that I just loved at one time. I just enjoy reading all the information that you ladies post on here and it has been helpful to me in my journey. I was banded on 06/08/07 and have lost 27 lbs to this point. I am enjoying wearing clothes that I have not wore in awhile. Again thanks for all the useful information that yall have put outhere for other to read and learn from. :clap2:

I am having my surgery done by Dr. Hekier and Keilin. I have only seen her though. Has having the band help with some of the health problems that ya'll have that is if you had any. I know that my orthopedic specialist recommended I have this done for my back plus I do have a few minor issues to. I am nervous about this but then I am also excited just because I know the band is a tool that is to help me acheive a goal and have a new perspective on myself and my lifestyle. Finding this forum and talking with ya'll I think has answered a questions and will help me throughout this whole process. Thanks!!

I am new to this type of communications, but here goes. I am to be banded on 06/08/07. What can be expected as to soreness after the surgery. I am kind of nervous about having this procedure done as I do not like needles. I am also interested in how the moms deal with their little ones once they are banded. I have 3 grandkids under the age of 2 that stay with me every weekend, plus dealing with my 12 and 13 yr olds. I just appreciate any advice that I can get to make this a smoother time for my whole family. Thanks, Christi
