RCT - First of all, Mexico is NOT a third world country. You are obviously ignorant on the options in Mexico and making judgements. We don't need people to bring those of us down that are struggling with Obesity and are looking for ways to make our life better and regain our health and happiness. I'm considering going it alone. I have a friend that used Dr. Ortiz at the OCC last year and she said it wouldn't be any big deal. As a single mom with an 8 year old.........alone sounds really good! -

So glad to hear others posting about the OCC and Dr. Ortiz. I'm hoping to schedule with Dr Ortiz at the OCC in June. I too like to hear other's experiences. -

Thanks so much for the info CindySC! We are waiting on coordinating Nana's to keep our kiddos! I am shooting for the week of the 10th or 17th of June. That's when school is out and my mom can keep my daughter and my friend's parents are taking a vacation and we aren't sure when that will be. Hopefully she will know something this weekend and I can schedule in the next week or two! If not I can do this by myself!

Hey cindysc how did you find your flight, what airline and where are your stops? I ask because I am hoping a friend of mine from Anderson can come with me. She was sleeved last May by Dr Ortiz so I figured who better to accompany me. I will buy her plane ticket so just trying to so a little planning. I'm afraid what rates will be if this sequester from the Feds really happens. Thanks a bunch!

In have wondered about not being able to eat certain things and my stomach so small but then on had to think…why do I ever need to be able to do that again? That's what got me in the boat I'm in. Food can't be our comfort any more. Doing fun things with our families and not being dead tired, out of breath or not fitting in an amusement park ride will be our new comfort! We can do this!!!

For me it was quality of care and expertise of the surgeon. I have insurance that would probably pay but the care and experience is lacking. -
I am hoping to set a June date with Dr. Ortiz with OCC I'm waiting on a friend to check her schedule to travel with me.

This has been one of my concerns. But what if you lived in Vermont and had surgery there. Then you moved to Arizona and had some issues. A doctor there is going to help you. Also, I think it's a scare tactic and some stupid Dr. code of I'm not going to touch another doctor's patient.
