Thanks for the reply. I have had two csections and tonsilectomy and I'm trying to gauge the pain. I am mostly nervous about throwing up. -

To those who have had csections...how does surgical pain compare? I will be on this side of the bench on Tuesday and I'm curious. -

Open enrollment just around the corner and my company is changing providers. Ugh! Going from Anthem (that would have covered my tummy tuck post WLS) to United Healthcare (doesn't cover s@!t). I'm totally bummed. Hubby has BCBS so I think I'm going on his. Just when I thought this couldn't have been more perfect. -

Hey Wolf...you will make it through. We are all here for you. Its difficult when we are faced with these life challenges but you will pull through because you noted what happened and are moving forward. Taking it one meal at a time and by your op date you will be able to look back and see how it was only a hiccup in time. As for me...I had my preadmission testing today and am happy to report that I'm down 27lbs from my start of preop diet!!! Still hope to lose more before 10/16 but I was excited. 27 lbs never to be seen again! Good luck to all the sleevers this week. You are all in my thoughts and prayers for a safe journey. And to all you post op"losers "out there so happy for you and wishing you continued successes. -

Looks like we are going to have to start an Octosleevers Losers bench thread on the post op side so we can all stay together throughout this process ... -

Good luck to all those getting sleeved tomorrow and throughout the week. I'm away for work and am staying in a hotel. Wow is temptation strong. Hello ...room service? !? Today is my first day here and ill be here till Thursday. Packed my mini blender and protein powder. I've been good so far. I'm doing preop and am 12 days in out of 27. Is it bad that I would rather sleep than feel tempted? Just keep reminding myself that this is all to get my skinny girl self ...its all worth it. -

I'm fuming pissed right now. My coworkers are gossiping about my upcoming out of work days saying I'm going out for gastric bypass. I work with a small nasty group of people and I have been super careful not to dicuss my personal life here. Only my one friend at work knows (and she would NEVER betray my trust)that is why I'm going out but to be gossiping about it is messed up and makes me feel vulnerable. They have always used my weight as a gossip point and I'm just so tired of it!! My friend told me what the ringleader said and gave me the FYI. Why do people have to prey on our vulnerablities?!? I've been heavy my whole life and I'm sick and tired of it. I wish diarrhea on all these haters ... my weight will no longer define me!!!!!! -
Omg!!! I'm there on the 9th too. We may run into each other.

Right?!?!! How could I not get the procedure with this kind of coverage?! Lol. Its covered with documentation of post op of 18 months or stabilized for 3 months. I was shocked when I saw it. I'm on day 7 of preop diet (out of 27 days) and I feel great today!!! My clothes feel a bit loose and its a good feeling. I'm trying not to weigh myself but I feel a difference. Is definitely nice motivation! I have a business trip to cali next week and I'm trying to figure out how to juggle my diet while out there. Need to find a GNC for my shakes so I don't have too heavy of a suitcase. If I can get past next week ill be happy.

Hang in there Brandy ...drink you H2O...you can do it!!!! -
I asked to get a date on the books only because my husband's company blacks out time off from Nov till Jan. Definitely was not an insurance thing. I did know however that the insurance covered the procedure at 100% before I pursued the process. They also cover any body sculpting post op at 100%.

My 1st apt with the dr was on 9/12. Met with nut and psych on 9/18. Scheduled that day for surgery for 10/16 but was considered temporary till Julie heard back. Had 1st apt w/ gastro on 9/20 and endo set for 9/28. Preop apt on 10/9. Jyst flying through the process. My friend has same insurance so I already knew through her what I would need and that insurance covers surgery 100%.

Julie called me today to let me know insurance gave approval! I already had my date but now they can erase the temporary circle that was drawn around it. Whoo hoo!

I have never been thin but and when the surgeon gave me an estimate of what my weight loss can be I was blow away. I can't wait!!! I try to not think about how many days left of pre op I have (10/16) but take one day at a time...I don't want to feel overwhelmed but it Its a life change, right? So its baby steps in the large scheme of it all. -

Good for you!!!! That's a big step. I am on day 6 of preop and I feel good. Empowered actually. I want this so bad I keep remembering what I've read on here.Skinny will feel better than the food slip-up will taste. I find it difficult when feeding the kids...not eating or tasting the leftovers from their plates. Being focused does make me notice all these little things I wouldn't count before. Forgot my lunch and snack shakes at home today. Thank goodness there's a GNC near work. I ran over and bought some prechilled Lean Protein shakes. Pheww. -
I have my endo on Fri with Dr Kutner. And my preop on the 8th.
-
Dr Schrope for me ! LOVE the office staff. Everything has been super fast and smooth. I am so excited....on preop diet already just to lose as much as I can prior. Meredith is fantastic.

I know my surgeon and nut do it to help get the liver ready for surgery to help decrease the fat in the liver, plus to help get some weight down prior. Every surgeon and patient are different ...guess your dr didnt think it was necessary for your case. My nut said to start 2-3 wks prior but said I could start right away to help loose more prior to surgery.
