Lookong For Support
Baby Beluga replied to irish1988's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too, had my first seminar with the Hollywood Bariatric Center and they were awesome. Scheduled for my first consult with he doctor and before it was an idea I had and now it's forging into a reality but knowing that being díabetic and obese will knock forty years off my life is motivation enough to get with this vsg program. I just got married and have a son in college , many more years to live but not if I don't do this right. So don't fear, do the research and know that this surgery will save your life. Yes yoy lay or may not have complications but not the ones you'll have if you become diabetic, with high blood pressure and high cholesterol.... Heart attack waiting to happen. Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Baby Beluga replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well most likely it was the tuna bec a little cupcake never hurts anyone. (kidding) but do remember food has its addictive properties. They did a study on the brain of people who eat carbs and cakes etc and they compared it with the brains of drug addicts... In the brain scans they saw the same receptors light up for the foodies as it does for the drug users. It's crazy....but now you are armed with tools to change your brain. I'm with you on that. Never had I thought of it this way but I am seeing myself for what it is... Carb addictions...sugar n sweet addictions... It's a challenge but as they say in twelve steps one day at a time. Feeling Hungary More Often
Baby Beluga replied to katrina81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't imagine a recently sleeved stomach to be able to process much less absorb a cheeseburger.... Think of yourselves like a new born baby with a perfectly new baby stomach ... If you had a new born would you feed it a cheeseburger so early in life? We all have our addictions to favorite foods but look at where that got us Russian roulette. No not yet. I went to the seminar which was given by the bariatric center where I live, I met the doctors there and I'm going for my first consult as soon as they can get me in, apparently they are packed with people going in because they do all three surgeries. Lap band, R n Y and sleeve... So I'm Hoping to get in soon. The thing is that I have a friend I know personally who got her sleeve and she is doing awesome.... I will share any info I have with you but don't be afraid just keep reading and preparing... Sent from my htc evo 3D using VST

Well so you know, we are on the same page... I have been doing crazy research and Ofcourse being scared is natural ... It would be unnatural if you or we werent scared because it is a major sugery but one that most definitely will save our lives. I went to a vgs seminar and learned that obese people live forty years less than what our life expectancy normally would be and I just lost a friend who died last week diabetic, obese and a smoker. He was only 53 and although I was a little scared about the surgery, well I'm not now. The more research you do and the more informed you are the more confident you will be that this Is the right choice. Look I'm young but I'm diabetic and overweight. I feel like I'm super old and can't do half of what I used to do. It's a struggle just to do the basic things around he house. And before getting to his point in my life, I had a full time job and tons of energy. Obesity is a disease that needs to be treated with urgency and care if not we will face many horrible complications later in life and it's a sad slow death if we do nothing. So be positive, jump on the sleeve bandwagon and stay on this site. People here are highly armed and educated to fight this battle together! Nice meeting you and good luck partner!! I know of a great shake that has only one net carb and a lot of Protein. Tastes great and like two grams of sugar that won't impact your glucose for anyone who may have been diabetic pre surgery. It's called the Atkins Protein shakes. They taste great with no after taste and you can use as a snack or Meal Replacement ... I'm not sleeved yet but I been researching and preparing. Try it, you'll like it...its only 5.68 for six in a case and you can find it at local Wal-Mart or GNC, Vitamin Shoppe etc. What I love is that it won't impact my sugars... Let me know if you get them. Sent from my htc evo 3D using VST

Did You Dye Your Hair The First Year After Surgery?
Baby Beluga replied to fattymcfatterson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your funny with the "should I buy a wig"... high lights are usually safer because they dye just a little last the root and the chemicals don't get into the scalp as much... Depends on what color you choose and it mixes in and hides the greys .... Sent from my EVO 3D using VST -
Congratulations Emma!! Good news to hear.. I'm happy for you and I have read on here that walking is the best way to recover faster...speedy recovery... Sent from my EVO 3D using VST

Hello, if you have the ability to view on your cellphone you will have no issues. It's super fast and simple to download and use. Great interface. There is a small ad section but not really bothersome... I agree w the admin moderator, switching your browser will def solve your pc issue. As for google and your privacy issues, they now have the ability to search n surf incognito and no one can track your site visits. Hope it helps and good luck. Sent from my EVO 3D using VST
