  1. Thanks for posting this, I love the photos! You will have to post a progress photo soon
  2. Hey just wondering if anyone is going to circle of care in baulkham hills, Sydney?
  3. Hello, I'm doing the couch to 5k app too! Everyone gets sore muscles after the work out. Make sure you warm up before you go and cool down when your done. And don't forget to stretch.
  4. Thanks for that info, I have to do a pre op diet too. I had to have insurance for at least a year before I could have surgery but luckily for me I already had when I decide to go ahead with this. Thanks again
  5. So I have been browsing the site and have seen mentioned a 12 week program before surgery, appointments with a 'nut' (??), and people having to wait 18 months for surgery. Just wondering if someone can explain the process you have to go through in the states or any other country, I'm very interested. Here in australia I pretty much just made my appointment and that's it, no program, no ongoing appointments just a few tests. Thanks !
  6. My surgeon told me the most important part is the aftercare. Mine is a two year program which involves a dietician, exercise group, a psychologist and check ups. Maybe you should call the doctor and ask if they offer any support after surgery. If not maybe you could join a group in your local area

  8. Whoops didn't mean to post that 'z' haha, anyone know how to delete a post?
  9. I assumed they worked for the company, why else would they care so much where and how much people pay for their surgery?

    Started Pre Op Diet

Hi Janet, I'm starting my diet on the 1st October and my surgery is on the 22nd. Mine consists of 3 shakes a day and veggies and salad in between. 18 months is a long time to wait, I only booked mine about 2 weeks ago but I went for my first appointment in April. Haha hope you fit into the smaller pjs! I have bought a dress that I want to wear when I reach my goal, but I guess I'll need a range of sizes for in the meantime. Good luck with everything x
  11. My partner took a little while to warm to the idea of surgery but I decided I needed to sit him down and find out why. Turns out it was his own insecurities and now he has even taken time off work to come to the hospital. Your husband will either come around or he won't, but you shouldn't let what he thinks change your mind. I knew from the beginning that even if I didn't have support I would do it on my own. I really hope he changes his tune, it will be so much easier having love and support around you xx

    Anyone Use The Wii?

Yes I use a game called "my body coach 2" for wii. It's pretty good it has 2 dumbbells that you put the wii remotes in and use them in the workout. It also recommends programs to suit your goals eg weightloss, toning etc. oh yeah and it has meal plans
  13. What is Kaiser? I had my first appointment in April and my surgery is next month. I didn't have to wait, I wanted to so I was sure I was ready and am not rushing into it. I didn't have to do any program, what does it consist of? All I had to do was a consultation, blood tests, ECG, x-ray and ultra sound.
  14. Hang in there! I start mine on the 1st October. I'm really not looking forward to it but at least it means that I'll be closer to the surgery date. Mine consists of 3 shakes a day and in between I can have veggies and salad. I'm just glad it's not shakes only

    So Out Of No Where...

That is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing
  16. I'm only 20 but I have been trying and failing to lose weight for 6 years. I know I need the surgery and I'm sure you know deep down if you really need it or not. If you decide you really need it then you should go to another surgeon who is going to be supportive and who you can talk to easily.
  17. Yay good for you! My date is 22nd October, I wish it was sooner I'm so excited!

    8 Days Post Op. (9-11-12)

I wouldn't worry about that, my doctor said I probably won't be exercising until about 4 weeks out. I've been reading the same things but after my surgery I'm not going to let that affect me. I think I'll just try to listen to my body and my doctor and go from there
  19. Yay!!!! I can't wait to be in your position!
  20. You should do exactly what your doctor told you to do. He knows best about the risks etc. I'm sure you knew going into this that there were going to be temptations after the surgery that would be hard to say no to, but you still have to... I think this was one of those times. Goodluck with it
