Thanks! I'm one of those people who eats the same thing...so lots of tuna salad and pre-cooked turkey sausage (jimmy dean)...which I guess is not as "dry" as some of the other meats, but i would think they are as dense? I'll try incorporating chicken into my meals and see if I can see restriction there.

I wasn't overeating, that is why I'm concerned...I ate until I was full. Four months ago I was full off of one ounce of nuts, but now I can easily eat two cheese sticks just as a snack and not feel a thing! I am only human, but I do try not to overeat and weigh my food. But sometimes I fail.

Guys, help! I am so worried my sleeve is stretched out I just ate 5 1/2 ounces of a combination of chicken and rice in some peanut sauce, it comes out to almost 2/3 a cup. I am a little over 7 months out, and I am so scared my sleeve is huge! Can anyone help or give advice? I'm really worried my stomach is too big, especially since most people on here say that they can only eat 2 or so ounces. I know that eventually out sleeves are supposed to hold a little more, but I feel like that comes way father out, like a year or so! So my concern is that my sleeve is going to continue to get big and by a year out I'll be able to eat like I used to! This may sound irrational, but I am very fearful! Please help if you can!

Mastiff_mama, did your doc specify exactly when your stomach is fully healed? -
Is My Sleeve Too Big?

buffalogal, thanks for the response. It frightens me that now I'm eating closer to 800 calories a day. I only have 30 pounds until goal weight, but the less restriction thing has been playing games with me mentally and I all of a sudden have so much doubt on whether I will reach my goal weight or not. -

Sleeve of Steel, it is from one of those pouches that you find right next to the cans lol -
I am so worried!!! I am 6 1/2 months out and feel as if my sleeve is too big! I used to be able to get extremely full off of 1 ounce of nuts, and now I can eat 4 ounces of tuna! Is this normal?? Have I somehow ruined my sleeve??? Ahhhh please please please give me advice lol Thanks!

Hey everyone, hopefully someone can help me out! So as the title says I'm 6 1/2 months out and I'm wondering how many calories a day I should be having. I want to average around 2 pounds of weight loss a week. I currently keep my calories from 450-550, but is this too little? I am considering increasing my intake to 600-700 calories a day, especially now that I'm farther out. I'll be honest, I don't work out. I did in the beginning and of course in the end there is no excuse, but being a full-time college student it's hard to get to the gym when an essay is due the next day! LOL So, if you guys can be so kind as to tell me how many calories a day should I be aiming for if I want to lose 2 pounds a week and don't exercise. THANKS Also, I have noticed that 2oz no longer makes me as full! I'm satisfied with 2 oz, but I could easily at least eat another ounce, maybe more! That worries me SO MUCH! I am worried I've stretched my sleeve

A Question for People in Maintenance
buforu21 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone reached their goal weight despite gaining a couple pounds here or there, or becoming side-tracked at some point in their journey? Basically I'm interested to hear about people who didn't give up despite their failures and what not. Thanks :} -
Thanks seriouslychange, I appreciate your input

My insurance didn't cover it, so I was self-pay. Therefore, I didn't have to go to one, nor did I want to since I wasn't mandatory. But I'm thinking that maybe going to one, just once to see if I like it, might be worth it.

So I am not the poster child when it comes to wls, I mess up and eat things I shouldn't but I'm okay with my behavior because I am consistently losing and I wanted to make this a lifestyle change, not another diet that would make me miserable. Anyway...I sometimes creep into old habits (for pre-op people, vsg will fix the physical but WON'T FIX THE MENTAL) such as eating out of boredom or eating in binges (nothing like before surgery, but def more than what I need). So I found myself first snacking on a 100 calorie pack of almonds, which was fine. Then I had a magic pop, more nuts, a couple of chips, and finally nutella. Now I'm sitting here feeling absolutely nasty and this nutella is giving me a headache, it was so disgustingly sweet! So I was wondering if anyone has any advice to avoid these old behaviors, it's almost as if I go on autopilot. One hour of removing my stomach is not going to change 19 years of poor eating habits lol! I would love some help if anyone has experienced this (and hopefully overcome it!) Thanks

So I'm a college student, 19 years old and we're I'm the middle of finals week. I was offered a cigarette and I took it. Please don't lecture me, I know I shouldn't and trust me it won't become a habit, and I don't plan on doing it anytime soon again, but I'm only human and I'm uber stressed and I caved in. My question is, being four months out should I be concerned about getting an ulcer from one cigarette?? Please be nice...like I said I'm not stupid I know what I did wasn't a wise choice but it was a one time thing and like I said it is not a habit or anything like that. Thanks
