In 2000 I had a gastric bypass, in 8 months I lost over 100 lbs. I started to not be able to hold anything down and when I saw a different surgeon he recommended he do an exploratuory surgery to see if they could repair it. They were unable to find out what the problem was some reversed the bypass. Needless to say I gained back all the weight.
In 2003 I saw the same dr who recommended a gastric band, I had the surgey for that and lost about 50 lbs. slowly I started to have pain around the band and lots of phlegm like substance in my throat. I kinda gave up on the band. I tried all sorts of diets but nothing worked (emotional eater) . In 2008 I tried to get insurance to cover the band revision to sleeve but was denied. I travel a lot for work so I sued that excuse to taste every city. I gained back all I lost plus 60 more. I am now 39. Nothing would seem to take it off.
I got a new job but again insurance denied it even after listing in COC hat they cover barbaric surgery, I spent so much time fighting this I said no more. I looked into Mexico as an legimate option. With my history I had to be real specific and most of the coordinators thought that gastric bypass couldn't be reversed. I decided that Dr Ortega Lopez was the best option for me. He is going to do all the pre op tests that my dr was here (EGD, etc) I cashed in my 401k and I am all in.
I am hopping that this time I can finally succeed.
