I had the gastric sleeve surgery on 9/12/12. My highest weight was 267. Day of surgery my weight was 254. By October 2013 I was down to 167 but then leveled off at about 171. For 2 more years my weight stayed in the 170s. My main source of exercise that enabled me to lose this much was my job as a self-employed house cleaner. I have gained some weight back - some due to bad habits and a few due to med changes. But in 2017 I stopped house cleaning and didn't replace with another form of exercise and gained 12 lbs within 3 months. Since then I have gained another 7 lbs for my new weight of 204. I hope to lose a few to get down under 200 lbs again. But considering that some if not all of this weight gain would have happened anyway, had I not surgery I would probably be well over 300 lbs. So I am still very happy with m weight loss. I think another big mistake I made, in addition to not replacing my cleaning with another form of exercise, was that I developed a habit of grazing. I am working to stop that now. I am also tracking my calorie intake on a phone app. I have also ordered a pedometer to help encourage me to go for evening walks more often. Will check back later with what I hope is good weight loss news!
