Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
Ainsleet replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I still get sick too. But to answer your question, I can still only eat 3 oz of meat and about 1/2 c. of veges. I can eat 2 small pieces of pizza if I havn't eat in a while. It's not my quantity that has gone up just the bad calories. Carbs and sugar. What are you doing to take it off? I put on 25. -

Melissa, This just cracked me up. I didn't drink much at all until about 2 years ago. Now I drink about 10 oz of wine most every night. Empty calories. A -

Hi alma, Thanks for your update. I too have recently been diagnosed with sciatic injury. my car was totaled last year and I have been having issues ever since. I am going to go to some specialists pretty soon. I have started trying to add Protein Shakes back into my diet and writing my food into my fitness pal. On the 2nd I will start going back to basics with the Protein Drinks. I am going to buy some popsicle forms tomorrow. I have found if I make unflavored unjury shake with nonfat milk, frozen fruit, and Ice. I can freeze it. I need something to be able to snack on at night. Walk when ever you can and do what you can. Look forward to hearing from you again. Ainslee -

I maintained for 2 years and then have been increasing my pounds. I have fired my gym and added stress and wine in my life. I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Time to change my life and turn everything bad on it's head. I don't know why I do this to myself. I am up 2 sizes and won' t buy new clothes. A few from a thrift store. Anyway, anyone else having issues? Or is everyone still on track and feeling proud? Which you should be and I hope you are. Thanks for listening. Ainslee -

This is an awesome story! Difficult but thank you for opening up. Maybe they always treated you poorly but at that time you felt that was all you deserved? Now you are powerful and beautiful and have learned so many lessons. It is not the quantity of friends but the quality. I thank God everyday for my wonderful, loving supportive friends. That love me, no matter what, for better or worse. You are opening your heart too so that beauty is inside and out. Embrace it. You are right, do it for yourself. That is also the true nature of giving. When we do it anonymously, never expecting anything back. And that daughter of yours? Embrace her!! For she just gave you a gift. That gift you passed on to so many of us. We will embrace it too. In fact, I am going to write it down and post it on my bathroom mirror as a great affirmation. Give her a hug from me too. And one for you! Ainslee -

Glad to see we have a few new people to join the bandwagon. I am now up 10 from the 7 I posted a month ago. I have had 3 emotionally challenging months. Physically too. I have come through relatively unscathed. The latest was being involved in a 3 car accident. The person who hit me totalled his car and then mine and I managed to only side swipe a parked car (with someone in it) Major accomplishment since the guy hit my front drivers front ending pushing it into my tire and wheel. But, I ended up with a whiplash and sciatica and cannot work out or exercise at all. So I am going to wait until Jan to get back to that. In the meantime, I am seeing a new NUT because mine is on maternity leave. He has a new way of looking at things which is really helping me. If you are interested look up Volumetrics. IT is helpful for me because I don't eat regularly due to work schedules. So I snack all day instead of ever feeling full. So I have been reading the book and trying to apply it. I don't have a scale so I am not sure until I go back to see him but it seems like it will work for me. So glad to see Buckeye, Carol and Almam on board with us. Let's do it. The last 2 years have not been in vain. Let's keep posting what we are doing or what weight or whatever you feel like posting to keep motivated and possibly motivate the rest of us. OK? Let's go!!! How do you respond to, "Wow, it looks like you're still losing" or "How much more weight are you planning to lose?"
Ainsleet replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. "How much more weight are you planning to lose?" I am under my Doctors care and we are working that out together. 2. "Wow, looks like you're STILL losing." Yes, I am so happy. 3. "How much further are you planning to go?" Same as #1 4. "Pretty soon we're not going to be able to see you!" I know, right? I love it. Thanks for noticing. 5. * coworker sees me running copies at the machine and half eating my lunch* "Oh, so THAT'S how you stay so skinny! You stay busy!" No, that is only part of it. The other part is a lot of HARD WORK. Try to get some automated responses. I heard, Don't lose any more weight, you are too thin. Don't try to think about why they say it. Some are good reasons, some are hurtful, jealous reasons. Doesn't matter, they don't know what to say. Even the people that are trying to be nice. In general people don't like change. Good luck with this. I -

Great to hear from you. I am up 7 pounds now and am trying to get back on a better routine. I am still wearing the same clothes but they are tight. I am already go to the gym 5-7 times a week so I am in great shape. But, I have discovered a healthy bread I like (love) and have been eating it like crazy. So I am going back to my NUT next week. I have been trying to log my food everyday on MFP but not hard enough. So let's keep each other posted on our journey and support each other. Anyone else need to join us? Got some extra pounds to shed? All my best, Ainslee -
Need post-op advice hsir loss & fatigue
Ainsleet replied to Scorpion11's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations on such a great success. I have no recommendations on fatigue because I din't really experience that. Plus I had the benefit of taking 3 months off after surgery. I DID have hair loss. A lot but I started with a lot. My Doctor recommended Biotin supplements. I don't know about timing but it did stop within a couple of months and it has all grown back. Although it seems to have more curl in it. Keep the faith, and doing the work. It all gets better and better and better. Until one day soon. WOW you are going to feel sooo good and look sooo good. WOWSA! Congratulations. You must feel so good and so happy, and you should. It is so weird when people don't recognize you, isn't it? I forget. I have literally had people introduce me to people that know me. You must get that ALL the time. Your muscles are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing on this New Years Eve. Happy New Year to you, and anyone who reads this post. Ainslee
