My whole life I've been big. I've always been this way. My mom would tell you that I've been big since birth. I was born 10lbs 2oz... Growing up was hard, most kids don't really think much about their size or things like that. I remember being on a diet as early as seven years old. By the age of ten my mom had me on the atkins diet. As I grew up things started to become clear to me. The dieting wasn't going to work. I tried everything from metabolife to lipozene. I tried juicing and raw foods. By the time I was 21 I realized that different things in my life were being effected by my weight more than I'd ever realized in the past. Simple every day things that most everyone just takes foregranted. I'd find myself wearing flip flop sandals because it was easier than struggling to put on socks and shoes. When my family would meet for dinner at a restaurant I would be praying a silet prayer that they didn't request a booth becuase inevitably I'd be sqeezed in with the table pushed against my stomach. I've never been to an amuzement park, or flown on an airplane (unless you count careflight). I've always thought " Am I too big for this?" "Will I fit?" Now that I've decided to have this surgery it's been a bit of a tough journey. The first surgeon
I went to was Dr. David Kim. His office staff was ok at best. After my 3 months of dieting, classes, etc. etc.. They just stopped calling. I got no cooperation and finally switched to Dr. Scott Stowers. The staff there have been really helpful and super supportive. I've finally gotten my approval letter and I'm waiting on a date for my procedure. It feels like I'm being reborn. I can't wait to start my new life.
