  1. Any suggestions for what I should take with me? Perhaps something you wished you had taken? Also, what drinks did you take for the trip back home?
  2. I know I read it somewhere, but can't find it now. How long before surgery do I need to stop taking Ibuprofen or Tylenol?
  3. Thanks, Brennie. May I ask the name of your surgeon?
  4. My cheeseburger comment was meant as a joke, btw. I would never eat a cheeseburger. Even without having the surgery.
  5. I'm sure that experience has a lot to do with it. My local bariatric surgeon has done 450 sleeves and had one leak. It seems that the surgeons in Mexico do a lot more because there are so many of us that can't get the surgery covered by insurance. They also seem to double and triple check for leaks because they know that we are all flying back to wherever we came from. I know that leaks can happen no matter who does the surgery. And I agree that I have to do MY part in making sure that doesn't happen. Follow the plan and not try to eat a cheeseburger as soon as I get back home. Thanks so much for all of your responses.
  6. Thanks so much to everyone that has replied. I'm getting my list together. The 24th will be here before I know it! Hazel, maybe a cheap sports bra would be a good idea.
  7. Was just wondering this today. Plan to call the HSA company to ask, but would love to know if anyone has done it.

    Leak Tests- Dr. Lopez

Thanks so much! I think I saw a picture of someone drinking the blue stuff. Looked like Windex. Haha
  9. Anyone know how many leak tests Dr. Lopez does?
  10. I just paid my deposit and booked my flight for surgery with Dr. Lopez on October 24th. Slightly nervous. I would love to read other's experiences with Dr. Lopez.
  11. I am scheduled to have Sleeve in Mexico later this month. I scheduled it to coincide with my transition to a new job. Now I'm having reservations about the timing and wanted to get the opinions of those that know what the recovery is like. My situation: I will be traveling 1000 miles approximately 8 days after surgery and starting new job 10 days after surgery. It's an office job, so it's pretty sedentary. I know there is always the risk of complications, but if everything goes okay, do you think it's a bit too ambitious of me to think I can do this? One other concern- I will be staying with a friend for approximately a month while my husband finalizes everything in the state I'm moving from and then joining me there. So I won't have much help. I would appreciate any and all advice. I am so torn about what I should do. I want this surgery SO bad and I really don't want to delay it.
