    Worried About Lack Of Restriction

Thanks everyone! Guess I just don't want to have gone thru all this for nothing. I am at around 600 cal per day. 249 day of surgery, 255 after surgery, 239 today 2 weeks out. Afraid I'm a slow loser but I don't know what's "normal".
  3. Need advise. I was sleeved on 11/19 and feel like I'm doing really well. Very little soreness as long as I don't try to overdo. I am able to drink with only occasional stomach cramps if I go too fast. No problem with Soups either. I am supposed to be on full liquid diet till day 21 so I have been eating the Cambell's Soup to go cups and Protein drinks. I am able to finish a cup in a setting. Is that too much? I thought the size of the sleeve was too small to accomidate that much, but I'm not feeling over full or anything. Is the lack of restriction because it is liquid? I guess it's kind of silly to worry this soon after about it being too big, but sometimes I wonder if the surgeon got it small enough. I see all these posts about how people have such a hard time drinking this soon post op and it makes me wonder if I am just fortunate or if there is something wrong with me. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

    November 19Th- Officially

Hope you are all doing well. I am doing so well it kind of scares me a little. Very little soreness as long as I don't try to overdo. I am able to drink with only occasional stomach cramps if I go too fast. No problem with soups either. I eat one of the soup to go cups at a setting. Do you think the lack of restriction is because it is a liquid? Guess that sounds kind if silly to worry about but sometimes I honestly wonder if he got it small enough. Just wondered how you all were doing with it.

    Dr Ariel Ortiz- November

Hi all. Doing really well. Surgery was on Monday went well. Everyone is very friendly and answers any questions that you have. Released yesterday to come back to hotel. The hotel is very nice! Broth is delicious. My husband and I walked up the hill to the Walmart yesterday. I was tired by time we got there but it was worth it. Kind of a little shopping center to look around at. Go to clinic for checkup today. Still sore especially around drain but even that is not too bad. Fluids going down well as long as I take small sips and don't try to rush it. 4 others had surgery same day and they all seem to be doing really good too. I think Dr Ariel Ortiz and his facility was a great decision for me. Will update more later.

Well the day is finally here. My husband and I flew into SanDiego today and have been here at the hotel this evening. FYI: the broth really is very good! We are to meet in the lobby at 6:40 in the morning to be picked up. I will let you all know how it goes later tomorrow!

    November 19Th- Officially

I am getting really nervous/excited. Not sleeping well at night as everything just keeps running through my head. We leave Sunday morning for the airport so I need to finish packing and double checking everything. 3 of my 4 kids ended up on antibiotics this week for an upper repiratory infection, so I'm really scared I'm going to end up getting sick or something will end up getting in the way of me getting this done. Really want to be started on a new path, but scared of failure too. Am I the only one feeling this neurotic?

ksgirlmomof4 on MFP Think it is a great idea to see what everyone else is eating that is close in dates to myself. Plus I think it will make me more accountable if I know others are "watching". lol

Oh Jordan1923 thank you so much for that! Answers so many of my questions! Just a couple more if you don't mind. First off, how are you doing now that you are home? Second and I know this is probably silly, but what did you do for you phone so that you didn't have international roaming? Really concerned if we should get a prepaid or what, but my husband and I are both going so I really want to be able to keep in touch with the kids. And lastly do you have any recommendations as to protein drinks/shakes ect that you tried before surgery? I have bought some Unjury samples that I plan to try but haven't yet.
