@ Summer,I totally understand what you are going through. Its like my worst fear came true. The fear of being that one, who surgery didnt work for. It has been over a year and my total weight loss has been 65 lbs. Some may say Great that's awesome. But to me its very disappointing. At first I thought I was a slow loser but now I just feel like a loser. To go through so much for so little just seems to frustrate me. I wish that I could have come on and given you words of wisdom. But im here to say "You are not alone".

Its just gonna be a longer training course lmao. I was very discouraged but with everyone's post im getting it together. This is something I want, so im gonna get it. -

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?
RenMocha replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Newgrandmother, thank you my dear for sharing. And you might just be right because I have been following the high protein low carb diet and im still losing slow. Someone else mention muscle weight, I think I may be in the category of a person with more muscle weight then fat as I was never a person who wasn't solid u was just a big solid lol. -

5 Months Out, 45Lbs Down
RenMocha replied to audreyrn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
If I go by the percentages I still haven't lost 60% of what I needed to lose. Would it be fine to go back to basics? Im not sure. But at this point I really do want to try, but im seriously discouraged. -

@Amazon13 No at 7months I lost a total of 56lbs. No I have not given up. But yes, definitely feel defeated. -
Well im 2 days away from my 4 wk post op. And im stuck. I've read a read various post about stalls and how they work but im confused as to why when I reported my lack of weight loss to my surgeon, he seemed like he was surprised and suggested I see the nutritionist again. Im barely eating nothing like what I could pre surgery. And im mainly picking foods from the nutritional packet that the nutritionist gave to me. So if the stall period happens to people, why doesn't my surgeon know about it? Fyi I've only lost 22lbs since surgery haven't lost a thing in 2 wks.

5 Months Out, 45Lbs Down
RenMocha replied to audreyrn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It seems to me that it only gets more and more discouraging. Im 6months out heading towards my 7th, and I am only about 56lbs down. I have had stall after stall. Its frustrating because now im probably not gonna lose very much more. I have hit my 6 months. If I would have known I might have gone with the gastric. It just seems a bit unfair that there's no medical answer why some loose faster then others. I'd like some pointers on what I can do to pick up the pace if its possible. -

RenMocha replied to audreyrn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I know exactly what you mean....Ill be 5months in January. Down ONLY 43lbs, I know it seems like alit to some but not to me. Im at a point were I don't wanna see my surgeon because in extremely angry at little progress. After six months the weight loss slows drastically....ok great I haven't started to loose drastically yet. I feel like a failure seriously do. What can one do? -
Hi everyone ok, this is my second menstrual cycle post op. My question is I dropped 5 pounds right before my period. Then weighed myself the day I received it and Boom gained back all 5 lbs. What's going on?

Will I loose it after my cycle is over?

Sweety, im so glad im not the only one. Lost 21lbs post op. I am 4 wks out also. Stuck at 283/284. Now funny thing is it'll fluctuate between 283-286. One day I weighed in at 279. But my period came and right back up to 284 is this normal idk? I really thought that this was the way to go. Did I make a mistake should I have gone with the gastric? -
I was 3 wks post op. Was out to dinner with my Mister. He is supportive but his favorite line is, I didn't have surgery you did. Lol. So he had about 3 long islands before I broke and sipped off his when he went to men's room. Needless to say I was tipsy by time he returned. Everyone's different. So just be cautious.

Stalls, Fact Or Fiction?

Weighing myself once a month would probably be harder then eating healthy lol. I will try to weigh myself less and do the measurement thing more often as a substitute. Its very comforting to know that it happens to a great deal of us.
