    Greetings all!
Last year at 66 and 326# I had my surgery on 12/5. This year, at 67 I am 198# and while I haven't learned to ride a horse, yet, doggie and I walk for 2 to 4 miles without so much as a second thought. I am still working 3x wk with personal trainer and 2 x without. I can ride the recumbant bike in the gym now - before my stomach prevented me from getting close enuf to the bike to turn the pedals. I'm kinda, sorta pleased @ that.
I worry excessively every time I put something in my mouth that I didn't do last year...no, haven't added too many carbs yet--certainly no simple carbs-- but if I spray oil on veggies to grill, I feel like I'm going to go over 200 tomorrow. So I'm spooked and don't know if I could stick to a normal food diet at all or if the gremlin of "must have more" food is lying dormant just waiting for me to cave in.
I don't trust myself -at all-.
I still wanna learn to ride a horse. Going to ask the personal trainer to give me some sort of test to see if I can get my foot over and my tush in a saddle. Wonder if they have senior citizen horse back riding...wonder if they use old horses for old people??? Any one else do this?
I've started accupuncture for my arthritis and hope that'll make moving easier. And a friend has given me a full hour massage as a gift. Wow.
So that's my followup. If I knew how to change the heading, I would. The only caveat I will give to anyone reading this who has not yet been sleeved is: don't expect huge changes in your life other than the wt loss. Don't expect things are suddenly going to change in general. You definitely will lose weight. You will certainly have people react differently to you because u are smaller and look like a normal person. But life will be what you've made it and will continue until you change it.
    I'm still learning that lesson.
Good fortune and happy new year to all.

The specific reason is how I put it to The Lord, I guess that was silly of me. I wanted it done before end of year cause of the cost of deductible and co-insurance.
You have helped put it into perspective for me. I guess I was trying to box God in. Just don't want to do this out of Gods will, I make a lot of mistakes without seeking him first.

I count from my pre- op weight because I would not have been on the pre-op diet if I wasn't having the surgery. To me, it's all part of the process.

MrsGina reacted to Newfoundlove in Anyone else get cold really easy since the surgery?
I got cold for months after the surgery. Sometimes I am still cold but it has pretty much regulated itself out. My doctor told me, however, that many people get cold because the Grelin that was stored in the pouch part of your stomach also regulates your temperature. I believe I've seen posts about that here on the forum before. You might want to do a search and see what others have written about this.

I went almost coatless in Ohio. Lost 110 pounds and moved to Florida. Now I get cold, have to put on an extra blanky.
I miss my fat overcoat like a paper cut with lemon juice. Cold I can take.

Hi! Here is my before and after picture since having the surgery. My starting weight was 330 and now I'm 225 as of this morning. I was sleeved on December 6th 2011.

I was with my ex-boyfriend for over 7 years. One of his many excuses for us not getting engaged was because of my weight. Meanwhile, he looked like he was about 9 months pregnant. I finally realized that my weight was not the problem. HE was the problem. Dumping him was the best thing I ever did for my self-esteem.
    Edited to add:
While it was definitely the best move I ever made, it was also the hardest. But, once I got past the initial shock of making such a big life change and started working on myself, I became forever grateful that I made the decision to leave.

I read your question and laughed. I asked my Dr!!! I think it was my last follow up appointment before surgery. His face turned red and told me it would not hurt a thing. Lol. Then he told me I was the first person to ever ask him that and he would never forget it. Lmao!

Your boss overstepped, yes, but did not, and cannot violate any HIPPA laws. The medical profession are the one's held to HIPPA, not some Joe Blow off the street. Him telling someone else would just be him violating a trust between you and him, not violating any laws.
That being said, your reaction sounds like something I would have done too. Don't beat yourself up. I think if I were in the same shoes, I would probably come clean about my lie. I have only encountered 2 people that were somewhat negative about my surgery, and was pleasantly surprised by the outpouring of support from so many others. Even if you catch flack from any of your coworkers, you can hold your skinny head high knowing you are happier and healthier

Well I agree with the above posters. I work in a small office and I told everyone what my journey is. I wanted them to hear it from me! I have had so much support in my decision. I am glad I spoke up.
Good luck and congrats on your WLS!
